They will say prices are stable... yet the prices rise slowly but surely...[/quote] ๐Ÿ˜‚ rising price = stable.

Don't eat rice, eat noodles or bread.

          Yes smurf, you are right.

hawker centre or zi cha stall expensive!
yesterday ate 1 plate of hor fun costs $3.50 - not much ingredients, portion also small and reduced, unlike last time served bigger portion.

i also noticed last time they sell other dishes at $3.50. But now no more, they raised another 50 cents more, so become $4.
Some vegetable rice stalls, put little minced meat mix into vegetable until never notice. When ordered, is charged as meat dish.

Ordered meat dish, meat can be counted.

reminds me of ride bicycle in those kampong days ...

i missed the past in 1970s.... take public bus costs 5 cents per ticket. The ticket bus inspector board the bus, bellowed in a loud voice 'Ticket please!', then punch one hole in the middle of the ticket.

Reveals your era lah... Ha ha... Just kidding! ๐Ÿ˜† :rotflmao:

One family of 4 go food court, easily $30. Sorry โ€ฆ I always find paying $5 for a cup of coffee is insane ๐Ÿ™‚ local yuan yang is still the best!

I canโ€™t buy food in food courts in town. Walk 1 round & return to table empty-handed. ไนฐไธไธ‹ๆ‰‹๏ผNo wonder DH who works in town always "Cheap! Cheap!" when we eat at food centre in older neighbourhoods.

Things are indeed more expensive here. Interestingly, friend from Malaysia who used to think everything in sgp is 2x more expensive than Mโ€™sia now remarks that price of food at our hawker is now cheaper than Mโ€™sia ! I guess itโ€™s now worse in mโ€™sia.

Probably depend on which part of Malaysia.
