Is the royal hotel one spicy and peppery?

Not too spicy. For dh and ds, the peppery taste is just nice but I add more peppy cos I like it that way.

For us, we like the unthirsty feel after eating it.

Oh good, my dh does not like it too peppery. I have not tried ones that leave an unthirsty feel after eating. It sounds good!

How to cook bak kut teh? The pre-packed ones contain too much salt for our liking. Adding more water dilutes the taste. Any tried n tested recipes? Thanks for sharing!

The one at the basement of Tampines Mall is quite good. I prefer the traditional coffee shop types, but if I am in that mall and am too lazy to drive elsewhere, this is quite a good option.
