2011 PSLE Results Day 24 Nov

All of us include my ds1 will there on Thursday. I think it is very important for parents to be there. Good or bad result, the child will still need the moral support from their dad and mum. About 50 hours more to go.

DH says he may not be able to take leave on 24/11 (i really don't understand what can be more important than DS getting his PSLE results :rant: ), so i will be going with DS to collect his PSLE results. Will bring DS2 along as he wants to give gor-gor his support (actually he seems more excited than his gor-gor ). Good to let DS2 experience the 'PSLE atmosphere' (joy, laughter, tears, sorrow etc), hopefully can make him 'wake up' and be more serious in his studies.. :slapshead:

I totally share the same sediment with firefly38. My DH too, said that he is not able to take leave.

I don't understand why not? I've applied leave way ahead even before PSLE exam ended and told him to do so as well. But last night, he said he cannot take leave... so upset.

Anyway, I definitely want to be there to share the moment with DS. See ya.

Shall I go or Shall I not? I asked my girl last night.


She said, "mum, you can take leave but do not accompany with me".

Why?, I asked her.

1. She does not bear to see my pale and nervous face.
2. She does not want to see me " I am jumping and screaming if she gets our expectations".

So, how do you think?

From my experiences, my nephews and nieces do not allow their parents or any adult to accompany them to collect the results. However they don’t mind their siblings / cousines to tag along !!


They rather choose to talk to their classmates, compare results, discussing which schools to go, go where to celebrate, etc

They would rather not having their parents around to "scold" them for not performing as expected.

I think it is good for parents to discuss with the children whether they want you to go or not. Some kids would love to, but some may not want.

My girl believe me that I won’t scold her whatever results she has.

My face is a problem that I do not know how to pretend and control of any emotion.

I am thinking, I bring my mum who is stronger than mine.

Why wouldn't the children want their parents to go with them to collect their PSLE results? Maybe when they are in Sec 4 or JC 2, they may not like their parents to tag along, when they go to school to collect their GCE O or GCE A Levels results, as they are already 16 or 18 years old. But P6 kids are only 12 years old! In fact, most of them may still need their parents to send them to school on that day.. :evil:

Firefly, my DH also asked me last night if he really need to be there :siao: . He said results would not change due to his presence :skeptical: , and he is ok to know the results later :roll: .

I :mad: :stompfeet: :rant: and told him he can worked every day, and this is only once a lifetime his DS getting his PSLE results and he should be there to support :frustrated: !!! He said he would try to get a half-day on Thur :slapshead: :stupid: . Let's see his answer tonight and I'm prepared to :nunchuk: :spank:

Doesn't he realize that it's not about him? It's about giving moral support and showing love for his son. :scared:
