        E3,
Hope your Dd will recover soon to enjoy her first day in the \"correct\" school.
Thank you, Scary. She's better today. Seems like mild food poisoning. πŸ˜‰

          drickymummy,

May I ask you this point-blank question even though we haven't met. Why you say 'I now inconvenient to carry heavy stuff?' Are you expecting?

Ds and I will be going but we can only arrive after 6:30pm as ds's piano lesson at CCK ends at 5:45pm. Dw will be making teriyaki chicken and jelly.

Another few days more to go before term starts. I wish ds can be primary 1 all over again so that I can be more relaxed, with no exams and all that.
Being a good citizen, I m doing my part to help contributing to the declining birth rates in Singapore but adding another new citizen who will arrive in a couple of months! πŸ˜‰ Secondly to make matter a little crazy, baby choose to join the Dragon year mad rush.... πŸ˜†

At least u can make it lor! Thanks to your DW for the food first yah.... Btw, can ask her to come pls... :please: We promise not to influence her in any way... :xedfingers: :siam:

I just hope that i can get someone to help with the fire in case I cannot get in started..Er...I assume we using the charcoal pit? :?

I also wish DS only starting P1 in 2 days time... But they grow n they grow fast! Anyway, exam is just part of education here... So long as the child understand reason why it is impt n marks do matter, just let them do their best lor.. I never taken any 'child exam' leave before.. Yes, I will be kan chiong for him but I want him to take responsibility in his own studies... He study for himself not me... He wans his first Lamborghini ...he has to work for it cos mummy can only afford the tiny car model .. :rotflmao:

            Scary:

Can a kind mummy or daddy advise me the correct position to iron the name tags for boys' top, as well as PE t-shirts?

We iron it at the top of the pocket for the sch uniform, but for PE t-shirts, we didn't iron any tags. Anyway for tees, realised that they get worn out and dirty after a year so we bought new ones this year.

A sidenote. Ds used to misplace his notes (those A4 ones) during those early P1 days. The issue got better after we bought a folder containing multiple plastic sheets, so each sheet for one subject which helped him organize things better. You may wish to consider that if your ds is prone to carelessness like mine.

I tot by right the name shd be just between pocket n sch logo? Iron on only might cos the label to come off after some washing.. My mom sew it on for DS.. She just did for all his new uniforms even though they have the change the tags every yr in his new sch.. Different color for each level.. πŸ˜“

As for folder... I give him a regular plastic folders with a few refillable pockets for each subject.. I also put one of those pocket file with a Velcro flap that can fit into the folder like those pocket refills for smaller pcs of notes or items.. Boys r boys ...they will not be bother with e pockets much and just chuck everything into the folder n stuff it into their bags... :slapshead:

Mark, you are on the right track to get ds to organize his stuff. Filing is a skill required for GEP and it's graded! πŸ˜‰

Psst, this coming Tue don't let your dd go to the wrong sch leh. The \"correct\" sch is still PHPPS. πŸ˜‰

Err...that'll depend on where the school bus sends her to, I guess. I wish it's the \"correct\" school too. πŸ†’

A few more hours to 2012! Have a fun and fabulous new year, everyone! Dd is down with fever, sigh...what a way to end the year...still...I wish everyone good health and all the best! :celebrate:[/quote]Oh no! Hope she is feeling better... Tot I will see u n Lizhi on fri but I was late n too many kids n parents ard.. I didn't see your gal but saw some other PH's kids...only tat I know non of them... glad my boy has 2 other PH boys in his class.. At least a good way to start off in a new strange place..

So u be coming next sat? Er....Lizhi! U still on holiday? U coming too? :please: :please:

Hope more will add to list if not I hate to call off the BBQ due to poor response since it will be a little challenging to get together another round once sch gets into proper routine with everyone busy with tuitions n enrichments n stacks of homeworks on wk ends...

                  drickymummy,

Kind of hard to do it in between the school logo and pocket cos they are very close. The tag will be half covered by the pocket. My neighbour told me to do it below the logo too on main pc of cloth. The school should have a guideline in ironing the name tags, just like my DS’s kindy. Anyway, I have decided to iron it on for the first day, not going to do the sewing first.
