Travel: Taiwan - Taipei

Check out my travel blog 1place1dream.blogspot.com
The farm visit and blow glass are fun. And these are in north-west so it is ok if you have a short holiday without time to go across the island. I had with me 10 and 16 year-olds.Song22:
Hi! My family are going to Taipei in January, and can someone advise if kids of 9 and 10 years old still enjoy \"Babyboss\"? Thanks!

Hi. For those interested and had been following, i have just updated my travel blog with the last family trip to Taiwan. We did the round island clockwise in 14-days. Actually i had wanted to do anti-clockwise so as to end at Taipei shopping. But that would hit the Christmas peak, so I ended up the other way.
As i was busy with work, this time the trip was planned completely on the fly. ie I spend about 1 hour every night to work out the next day itinerary.
All enjoyed as we ended up with great variety. For sights, we had the great sea ocean view through the East Coast, National Parks like Taroko, Alishan, Sun Moon Lake. And we had cycled, hikes, strawberries picking, made our own blow glass pieces, theme park rides and of cause the night markets.

Baby boss - Both my girls, 7&9 enjoyed alot n they loved it! I recommended to my friend, who girl is 9 yr old she said no regret!
Some kids were even older than my girls when we were there. u may join the half day session 1st n if your kid's like it, u are allow to extend it to a full day session before 1pm.
All occupational u need to queue n there are limited seats! They will bring the kid to the room to dress up n teach them few sentences.
So half day might not enough
My kids stayed for a full day session n managed to take part 10 jobs.
No regret, it fun! kid will reward with wages, parent busy following them n taking pictures for them -

I wanted to attached the timetable but do not how to do so.. Maybe someone can advice me:) -
for those interested in BabyBoss, they had ANZ creditcard promotion before (tourists will still get discounts), get update at their website.
1.But be prepared to spend 1000 to 1500, or even up to 1800 for your kids (it is a full day affair with your meals in between jobs).
2.The job listings with timing/durations is important. You have to first identify which jobs for your kids, then plan your itinerary, and queue up accordingly.
Popular jobs have limited seatings (pilot and stewards) require you to Q for up to 20min !
3. Read our blog and Youtube for more tips.

Hi experienced Taiwan travellers,
I’m planning to do a 7-night F&E self tour in Taipei & outskirts for a family of 7A2C (kids 6 & 7 yrs old) in June, is it very tough and economical? Or would it be more economical to take tour package? Though I have done quite a lot of self-tours to US, UK, Aust and Tokyo, it’s my first time to Taiwan.
I’m thinking of 3N/2N in Taipei and 4N/5N in outskirts - would like to incorporate the scenery, farm stay and fruit picking.
(1) Any suggested Taiwan outskirts or itinerary branching from Taipei which you all can share?
(2) How do you commute from Taipei to its outskirts eg: Jiayi, Hualian etc.
(3) Any recommended farm stay, min2 su4 and hotel?
(4) Weather in Taiwan in June?
Thanks…!!! -
You can check out my Taiwan self-drive trip on 1place1dream.blogspot.com
You can find all the variety and perhaps reference to consider what do you really want to have.
I think you have too little time to cover both east (hualien) and west (jiayi). Or unless you check if the east-west road at Taroko is open, it was closed last month due to landslide.
If you do not drive, you can always take the train. But for the scenic view, you should have a car to explore on location.Dinah:

Hualien - besides sightseeing, anything interesting to buy ?
did anyone light up the burning balloon, write a message and let it float high, high up into the sky ?
hahaha! reminds me of that scene in Love drama "Ai" where that pretty, big eyed girl WaWa wrote a message to heaven plead her mom help her look for her dad - none other than Wu Jin Sheng.
Taipei - any big bookshop around, something like big size Popular bookstore type ?
