some Chinese characters hard to write, esp. name that involve too many key strokes. never mind, take a few days let them practise until familiar. buy a 60 cents exercise book with big square boxes inside. You write first row, ask piggie copy on 2nd row, 3rd row.
besides own name, also teach piggie how to write the date.
eg: today is Jan 16. Teach piggie write \"yi yue shi liu ri\".
After that, she claim want to watch TV. :faint:

Mine can’t write his Chinese name yet. At the moment resorting to using chops.
Have to spend 15min everyday teaching him to write his name (on top of the written work given by his kindy & Chinese tutor). -
IMHO don't drill too hard or risk making them fear or dislike chinese.
They will learn how to write chinese in due time. More important now is to cultivate the interest to learn chinese. When they find learning chinese is fun, they won't find it difficult.

agree with tankee… dun drill now…but cultivate interest… best let them learn via drama and speech… i heard Berries is popular cos they are not stressing the kids… learn with fun… this is the correct why… even mathss… dun drill too hard… u can see the different reaction by our kids by the two approaches…
