All About Flu and Cough

A friend ever told me that turtle soup is a good remedy for cough, whenever his children have cough, he will let them drink turtle soup and it has worked well for them.
Unfortunately, I’ve never tried that before due to "religion" reason, therefore didn’t really know how’s the effect. Have anybody tried that before? Please share your experience. -
Anyone’s kid got rashes after a flu ?

My sis’s daughter tends to get this problem too, coughing throughout the night because she claims that her throat is very itchy but sometimes kids like to drink alot of cold soft drinks, this is normal but not too often… My sister enrolled her for swimming lesson every weekend and her cough seems to be better…

Hi friends! This is my first time posting here. I notice there is a cough germ going around? How are you handling it?
I got my boy to drink the dark sea coconut concoction. My family doctor is already closed for CNY. -

Manuka honey works v well for my kids esp my younger one who used to get cough/flu very frequently.
I make them take manuka honey each time i \"feel\" that they are going to get flu/cough and it works, the sneezing/sniffing stops q immediately.
For kids, anything below UMF10 is ok for daily intake.. adults shd be able to take higher UMF.
There are many brands in the market (selling in GNC, Guardian, Honey World, Hock Hua etc) - you can check them out.

iLoveChubby,
i bought from Eurenshang… it says active 15+… i ask the salesgirl she said same as UMF… how to eat it? like medicine, concentrated right? -
Hi micollh!
I thk you can either take it neat or add some water.
Some KSP (in "manuka honey" thread) gave their kids neat
Depends on individuals… i tried on my kids, tooo sweet for them… So i add alittle water to make sure they finish all. -
friends,
Is it okay to let a Primary school boy to take vitamin C tablets every morning? Are there any things to watch out for and any good brands to recommend? -
It’s said that Manuka should not be diluted and no water to be consumed for at least 20 mins after taking Manuka. For us, the Manuka from Hock Hua has been most effective but with the new packaging, not sure if content is equally potent as before. For children older than 3yo, UFM 10 is best for daily intake. UFM5 has negligible anti-bacterial effect, IMHO.
Elderberry is another effective remedy for flu and cough. I usually boil thyme with rock sugar and add smashed garlic is symptoms are severe.
