      1960s:
      Son brings home a yellow envelope.
      Son: \"Ma! My teacher give me this envelope!\"
      Ma: \"Wah... the yellow envelope so nice... gimme I wan to use to keep my chap ji ki!\"

      1970s:
      Son brings home a yellow envelope.
      Son: \"Ma! My teacher say I must change school!\"
      Ma: \"Alamak... why you always kanna trouble! Now kanna kick out somemore! I tell your father then you die!\"

      1980s:
      Son brings home a yellow envelope.
      Son: \"Ma! My teacher say I got into GEP!\"
      Ma: \"Alamak... got PAP dowan want to join what GEP! Siao ah you?\"

      1990s:
      Son brings home a yellow envelope.
      Son: \"Ma! My teacher say I got into GEP!\"
      Ma: \"Sure anot? You gifted meh? Got cheat anot?\"

      2000s:
      Son brings home a yellow envelope.
      Ma: \"...\" and faints with joy.

      2010s:
      Ma gives son a big bright yellow envelope.
      Son: \"What's this?\"
      Ma: \"Shut up and just bring it to school.\"
