Crazy for bags!

I am not crazy about bags but I do have a few LVs, Coach etc. I take the bus, MRT etc with my bags - and that's what they are, just another handbag among all my handbags. Never thought I had to match my mode of transport to the cost of my bags.

I have been working all these years diligently and realized that I really did not pamper myself much. As such, i decided that from this year onwards, I will start to spend more and be more relax about savings.

My budget is $1000, what do you think I should get? I know of many brands that easily exceed that sum, but this is the maximum I would pay for a bag.....

I, too realized that 2 years ago.
So I decided 1 bag every 6 months.
But I resolved not to spend more than $1000 on each bag.
So now i have 2 kate spade, 3 coach, 1 furla.
Pathetic collection :oops: .
However, I have to be so cautious not to get the bag dirty, and not to scratch it. So I feel so restricted when I carry them. In the end, I feel more comfortable carrying my non branded bags which are more practical with many compartments.
I drive, so no one gets to see the bag.
When I reach work, I keep them in the cupboard so again no one gets to see them.
It's only when I go on that occasional outing with friends then I get to \"show them off\".
So now I am back to my old days.... no more shopping for bags.

Do you consider Burberry as branded? I think you would be able to find a good selection at that budget.

Ultimately, it depends on whether you want a leather or fabric bag. Leather or PVC leather would be more lasting. If you get a fabric one from Gucci, it usually won't last very long, especially at the corners.

anyway, my feel now is i am getting crazy over bags again. i bought about 10 since late last year.

i just like coach bags. no matter which one i pick for the day, it is just very practical and stylish. i like the durable condition of this brand.

for my more expensive bags, i dont use them daily but i take good care of them.

Yup I like coach too.
Very practical.
I feel that LV is overprized.
And it is too common.
Personallly I like bags without the signature sign on it.
So only those who know the brand will know it.
I will like to buy this coach bag.
I have the denim blue one already.

If you treat those bags as just another handbag, you would get so much value out of it. It's like fine-bone china. Many people only use it on special occassions. In my family, it is used everyday. The amount of use and enjoyment we get out of it everyday far exceeds its cost.

Furthermore, I compare the price of paying for a handbag to my daughter's tuition fees. At least with my handbag, I can see what I paid for. With the tuition, many times, I think it is money gone down the drain. :heresmyfish:

yes, the denim blue one is nice but i prefer this which is bright and colourful.

haha, just like sending kids to attend adam khoo, mindchamps workshops. it works when the kids are attending the workshops but once they are out of the programmes, all things taught went out of the window. my dd seldoms apply what she learnt.

I just bought a 1 figure bag from Isetan. Quite sturdy…can even put my ds art material in it…

I'm still sore about that. Could have gotten myself a Chanel Maxi lambskin with that money - at least it would have been money wellspent.
