Hey, my girl is entering P1 in 2014 and I am looking at CHIJ OLN. I have read through the whole entire thread and found that not many looking at this school.
Any reason? -
would like to check is there a need for PV in CHIJ QLOP?

I think if you are a catholic, there is no need to do PV. However I am unsure about the application date for PV. You can call the school and check. -
vicki:
geez... my 'back up' plan is St Gab. Seriously, it would be ideal, if could get him registered at Holy Innocence Primary, then I wouldn't need to worry for the '10 tigeress, when her time comes.
Hi zannymom,zannymom:
Hi,
My boy is also a '07 piggy, going P1 in 2014.
I'd like to know wat are the odds to get in to Holy Innocence Primary or Maris Stella, under Phase 2B (catholic). Anybody can share?
My little piglet is going to Maris Stella in 2014 cos i managed to ballot in his older brother!
Balloting was a stressful experience so pls have 'backup' plans.
Our ballot was via 2B (Catholic) and more than 2km type. -

Just through my experience.I would like to share it to everyone here. My son when in Nursery onwards also have problems like running nose and coughing. At first gives all different types of flu and cough medicines, and all didn't work. then the doctors started to gaves nose spray - nasonex (For allegy) and even seretide , all didn't worked. Then one fine day I bought this
Hi Power Puff,Power Puff:
Hi autumnbronze,
Thank you for your suggestion. DS1 will most likely be enrolling into hubby's old school instead. Thankfully, the school is quite nearby, about 10-12 mins drive so don't think it's an issue unless MOE does something very drastic to the P1 Reg alumni phase 2A
After all that P1 enrolment thing, then have to stress over preparation for PSLE, post secondary, uni... Long tedious journey. AAAAAARRRGGGH. But then again, that is parenthood, in Singapore context.
Are you thinking of enrolling your kid (ds or dd) into Yangzheng? Think there's Zhonghwa, St Gabriel's, CHIJ OLGC nearby.
I used to be amused when my friends and acquaintances expressed their concerns over the P1 reg and how a few of them bought or rented places to
try to get their kids into preferred schools because they are non-amumni members...It is only now that my own kid is entering P1 soon that I can emphathise with such kancheong parents. Feel so ashamed now
Was playing with Dd2 and seeing her laugh so happily just now..can't believe I'm anxious about her P1 registration already. Got to be careful and manage my emotions, otherwise the stress will be rubbed off on the kids who really should be enjoying every inch of their childhood now.
After reading some of the threads related to pre-school curriculum and
enrichment programmes (making me realise that I've been rather laidback),
am glad that KSP has some light-hearted threads like incl fav korean drama (I confess I am a fan!)...watching korean drama shows is part of my me time after kids go to bed, helps keep me sane
Sorry, off-topic!!
Tee hee hee :hi5:
Same sentiments.
I am pretty laid-back too.
My DS1's kindy doesn't even have spelling nor ting xie. In fact, I am
strongly veering towards taking him out of there to home school him and sign him up for non academic classes. It's not that the kindy is doing a bad job, on the contrary, it's not too bad. It's just that he is getting ill, ie cough
and cold practically very month. It's been happening since N1. And every
time he is ill, he misses school for up to 2 weeks cuz I want him to recover
and not pass on the virus to others. The coughs can get really nasty sometimes.
Yes, Yang Zheng is a school that I am considering. I have also applied for
PV in a school near our 2nd property. But we may not enroll DS1 there if we feel the culture may not suit him. More important are the transport logistics and the fact that we are really happy in the current place we are staying in. It's near amenities plus Lor Chuan MRT. And my PILs live a
stone's throw away, and so if I decide to go back to work part time, he can always walk over to his grandparents' place after school. Hence, moving out will be a hassle and we really have to think hard whether we want to take that step. And no, we also don't believe that we MUST move near a school in order to get DS1 there as results are not based on that criteria alone.
Yup, I go to Playground and Notti corner to de-stress too

Sharp Portable Plasmacluster Ion Generator : A Gadget To Clean The Air With Beauty Benefits.
I cannot remembered when it took for my son to stop coughing and have running nose, just days by days it went that i suddenly realised that my son stopped coughing and no longer have running nose problems ,just completely cured. No coughing sound that it make me realised that. My son no longer have any such symptoms anymore. You find that amazing. I cant believe myself at that moment too. All my neighbour's childrens also have such problems, some even see chinese doctors , still the same. I also gives them this advice too. As I find that , nowadays, a lot of childrens have such allegy problems thats why i like to take a chance to share it here.
It is quiet expensive as it cost around S$500 over dollars at Best Denki. (with ION) But I think is worth it as my son is totally cured. You find it amazing, as previously I just buy it and tried it out , it really works. I find that Our dear Dd or Ds health is more important as Money can earn back as what I think , though the machine is expensive. My son no more have to suffer anymore and can concentrate well in his studies now. My son now is in primary one. Now i'm still using it. I bought 2. One in my childrens bedroom and one at the lviing rooms as it is portable. -
whatβs the name of this expensive medicine ?

Is a machine ,\"Sharp Portable Plasmacluster Ion Generator\", not a medicine. But anyway it cured my son long term coughing and running nose problems.
