Is your gal wearing myovision lens or juz normal lens since she managed to stabilised her eye power. Hers was myopia nt astig rite?
I also told my ds only to put on glasses when looking at distant object lk watching tv, copyg from whiteboard in sch and etc. Doing hmwork, reading and playing handheld game, he will remove them. Haiz! now have to spend extra time resting eyes every hr. Btw, i'll b also tryg out out the pinhole glasses, hopefully it helps. -
Hi 24hr mum, pokemon
would you mind sharing more of the pinhole glassess? where do you get it -
Pinhole glasses can get it from guardian pharmacy. My son is using the myovision and his degree did not increase for the padt two years.

as parents, we face so much worries regarding the well being of our kids :gloomy: ..bit scared now  -
hi mother777
hope all is well for you
im in dilemma now if to let my dd2 (k1) to wear glassess. her eye power is 200 each eye. as parents, hubby and myself hv experienced that since childhood, our eye power constantly go up at every eye review.
my dd2 seems ok with everyday activities without the glassess, but of cos i also worry that it will do her worse without the glassess. -

herbie,
Glad to hear your son degree did not go up after using myovision. Im still monitoring my ds degree, now stil v low, on normal lens. Our optician ask us to go back for check 3mths later, if theres an big increment, we can try myovision to control it. So im keeping my fingers cross. -
Anyone can share their experience, if its necessary to remove glasses when doing near work and only putting on when looking far for the case of myopia. After reading thru this forum, i realised some recommend to put on glasses at all time and some say when necessary....???? Im at a loss.. :frustrated:
If the kids is on myovision lens, does it mean the glasses can be put on all the time, since its suitable for near work too?

as such, me and my hubby do not wear spectacles.. both our families have history of wearing spectacles only after 40++ age.
but now a days kids at young age are getting eye problems.. i think it has more to do with working/studying indoors without natural light..kids do not get much time to play outside..
so the eye is so much strained..
also kids are getting very picky at what they eat..less veggie, more snacks..more of T.V..Computer..etc..
my DD1 told me yesterday evening, \" mummy Teacher told me that I may need to wear spectacles. so today at canteen I bought carrots with my noodles to eat\".
I was so touched after hearing this. Poor kid
..anyway lets just do our best..
now I can blackmail her to eat her veggies..or maybe sneak some more into her dinner plate at nite  -
actually … there are specific genes that predisposes us to myopia (esp chinese). so when the enviroment is ‘right’ - i.e. closed env, reading too much, not much outdoors … this gene triggers the eye to be myopic and elongates …
so when we say our parents don’t have myopia … thats not exactly true … because the environment didn’t trigger myopia gene in them. some ppl just don’t have the genes for myopia and remain without glasses however much they read or stay indoors.
so the whole idea is to change the enviroment and make our kids eyes relax … stress due to blurring, over studying and strain causes the myopia to increase. myopia is prevented when kids are outdoors it seems (atropine and ortho-k does the same it seems). until gene theraphy is proven or some new breakthrough eye drops (without side effects) … we are at nature’s mercy … and more questions …
