DSA 2012
-
Hi verykiasu2010,
Thank you for the explanations and for your patience
thanks. -
Anyone here whose kid is participating in Sota’s junior academy (think it’s a new program) for those still in pri school (not sure if p5 or only p6)? Wondering if that helps in the DSA for aesthetics.

Hi Supermama, you may want to 'hop over' to the NUS High thread under 'secondary school/ IP parents networking' forum to take a look or post your questions. If you are considering the school, it would be better to understand the program before making a decision, as it runs on a different system from mainstream schools and IP.Hi,
we missed the NUS High open house and would like to find out more about their DSA. Also would like to know what's the diff of the school with others.
Thanks! -
I have a question here (may have discussed previously but the thread is too long to go thru)… Pls bear with me…
For DSA through sport, let say if the child is in the school team (and the team met the criteria for DSA application) but as a reserve player. Will the child be eligible to apply for DSA through sport??
TIA! -
Hi may I know if my child does not have any CCA or any other achievements , can apply DSA?

Every child can apply, it is how good the chances are?
What do you mean by any other achievements?
If you mean - child does not have sports / music achievements etc then ok if the child has other academic ones like olympiads, ICAS, stellar school results etc it helps a lot. -

DSA is for students who demonstrate exceptional ability or talent in the academic domain, sports domain or aesthetics domain over and above their peers. If you do not demonstrate such exceptional ability, give DSA a miss and ask your child to focus on PSLE instead. If he works hard and does well there he will still gain admission to his desired school. -

What is exceptional academic ability? Winning competition? Or overall certain percentage? Is participating in dsa time consuming?Essential:

Dsa in schs with dual track, how does it work ? Dsa only for their ip stream? Or dsa but depending on your psle score if they assign u to ip or o stream? -
When do the schools send out confirmation offers and when do we need to confirm accepting the offer?
