I was a tutor for around 5 years but have stopped due to school commitments. You are right it was tough travelling all over singapore.haha. thanks for your post in the other forum as well! I charged in the range of 25 to 35 in the past depending on level 🙂

wow..seriously..180 dollars is a little too much. However, just figuring, I have fellow tutors who charge 50 dollars per hour for pri sch english and are still undergrads. Is that actually ok?

LSCJ you're an undergraduate tutor too? I charge about half the price, but then I don't go to the student's house. I make them come over instead so that I can save some time for studies & more students.

I used to go to student's house but gradually I want to teach at my house. However, some current students are unwilling to travel.

Personally, we only have 24hours a day. How many hours are you going to sell out? I rather have a better rate than have more students. Just commit till the end of the academic year and switch over.

I think thats fair for both sides. It gives them more than sufficient notice and time to consider and/or find alternatives. Everyone has a price/value, whats yours?

Wow! I train preschool teachers and I don’t even get this rate in some of the schools I teach in.

i ckecked some online tuition centres and surprised to see some undergrads from top schools charing as much as $45 per hr for sec students 1 to 1.

but i do like two / three of these undergrads but alas, no more free time slots. 🤷

Ridiculously high. The part time teachers at tertiary institutions are paid between $120 to $150 per hour and this tutor is asking for $100 per hour for P4!
