      The recent hot news are affecting my dd on her choice of sec school! The male and female leads of the recent corruption cases plus the CHC case are from the same branded schools.

      Well if you have strong family values and have inculcated solid moral values in your children, there isn't much to fear.

      Well said! It is her values that leads to her hesitation. 😄

          Reading all these news about corruption & sex-for-grades issues tells me I have reinforce moral values even more. One can be a president scholar but all it takes is one wrong move to ruin everything. It so happens the male and female leads of late are from branded schools, which is why lots of attention are showered on them.

              haha...no...my silly dd does not want to be surrounded by people with such values....but she does not realise that these people are just a minority and such people are everywhere else too.

                Surrounded. :rotflmao: Yes, these people are everywhere, just that some draw more attention from the social media.

                    You get into good school is solely base on PSLE. But it is sad to know that people are putting so much effort on paper chasing & grades but neglect their moral values.

                      @mummy so kiasu;

                      Sorry for the late reply ^_^ I live in Yishun. Yes I know it’s not that far away from Bishan but there’s no direct bus route from my school to Yishun (what a disappointment! Have to keep switching bus and MRT)

                      Hm… Seems like you live far away from Bishan… I don’t know. Maybe it’s just that I’m lazy or something. My friend who lives in Sembawang attends school all the way near Dover.

                      Hopefully your DS won’t end up like me :x it’s a very big contrast for me since all this while in my primary school, it’s very near my house. It doesn’t even take me 15 mins to reach home. Maybe I’m just not used to all this traveling yet…

                        Thanks for your reply. I know it is very tiring to spend such a long time traveling after a long day in school. I am staying in Sengkang & it is surrounded by neighbourhood schools. Really envy those who stay near by good schools.

                        My boy wanted to go to Victoria but it will take him 1.5 hr to travel to school (bus change bus & then walk) Bishan is not that near to our home but at least my boy could take MRT (bus change NE line follow by circle line & then walk). Currently, his school is very near to our home. He might need sometime to get used to it.
