To prevent this from happening, being a member for 1 or 10 years do not necessary guarantee one the right to register in Phase 2B. Someone who has been a member for 10 yrs can be a sleeping member too. Thus, in order to qualify for 2B, one has to be active.
I do not think there is such a requirement for 2B now. -

That's very real! i knew someone who contemplated to convert to Catholic just so the son can get into CHS. Though she eventually didn't, i still desprise such behaviour. -

I want to check if my husband join SHHK as member , but he has no time to do volunteer work as he most weekend he works. I am not a hokkein ( this is a big issue ? ). Can I volunteer to help out at SHHK instead ?
since you aren't Hokkien - cannot join, can't volunteer.
only your husband can join - because he is Hokkien. -

But if look at it from another angle, these parents do it ... out of desperate trying to enrol their child in, at an earlier Phase 2B instead of having to fight with masses at Phase 2C. -

Your hubby can become a member but you can volunteer on his behalf. Hope this helps.
