4H2 is advisable if yr dd is strong in every single subject apart from scholarship applications later. Another advantage is the weakest of the 4H2 subject will be regarded as H1 for rank pt calculation.
As long as a student shows a slight weakness in one subject, its advisable to offer it at H1 level as he/she need not cover that broad though the depth remains unchanged. Mid-tier scholarship bodies and unis’ scholarship and most popular courses welcome students who offer 3
Our unis do not favour 4H2 over 3H2. -

U mentioned abt dropping fr H2 to H1 if shown of weakness,
what's abt econ ?
have been hearing that one shd go for H2 econs instead of H1 as not very much difference in content covering.....true ?? -

What you hear is correct. However, herein lies the big difference. Generally, there’s a big gap btw these two groups.
Its definately much easier to score a distinction at H1 level than H2. -

For this year, the students are allowed to take triple sciences as long as they qualify. However the 3rd science is considered as elective and not counted in GPA.Do you know how many Y3 triple Sc classes does the P plan to limit?
Err....If my memory din fail me, thought i read from here that the sch removed the option for 3 S, not limit the classes ?
It encourages only those who are really strong in science, have good time management and have the interest to take the additional subject.
As far as i know, those who met the creteria and opted were all granted. -
onemore:
Why is it that triple sciences still a popular choice, is it because of the mindset that those who are taking triple sciences are the better ones?
Triple Sc combi is still a popular choice in many schools for Y3 – including the “good” IP sch.starlight1968sg:
Yes, the P knows more than us.
It is pointless to do triple Sc nowadays. The prob is which 2 Sc subjects to take, noting RV encourages Chem as one, which means we are left with either Phy or Bio.
I wonder if this is inline with other IP schools.
I was thrilled when the P mentioned that we should not compare our revised curriculum with a non-IP sch (as suggested by a parent) but with a \"good\" IP sch
Do you know how many Y3 triple Sc classes does the P plan to limit?
I do know of some of my dd's friend chose not because they want it but rather their parents wanted it. -
For the Revised Curriculum Structure, my understanding is that the school doesn’t change a lot. As for GPA percentile, the 30-75% and top 25% can combine any subjects as before. The low 30%, however, are asked to cut down their subjects for long-run benefit, A-Level.
From the perspectives of curriculum revision, I personally prefer more support to Olympiads and more hours in English writing for lower levels. -

Also science is a popular combination at JC level because it allows you to venture into almost all disciplines in the uni. So if one wants to do science and is undecided as to what sciences to do, it is better to take 3 sciences at years 3&4 to know one's aptitude and interest. -
The mindset of parents should be updated.
I would seriously prefer my girl (now Y1) to do 2 Sc, 1 (history or geo) and 1 (3rd lang) at H2 level, if she can cope. Otherwise 2 Sc and 1 humanity at H2 would be fine too. -

Allow me to shareHi Edureach,
Glad that u are here....,
Wanna to ask u .....what is yr view of taking only 3 H2 even if the pupil is eligible for 4 H2?
Better time management ?
I would suggest to take 4H2 unless otherwise.
Doing a subject at H2 level would give our child a deeper understanding (in Sc) or a better command (in art) in that subject concerned.
