:goodpost: :thankyou:Hi
:congrats: to all Parents and children who have sacrified for almost 10 months for this pressuring, stressful, tedious, and mind crashing roller coaster of PSLE 2012.Well,the children should enjoy themselves as a 3 day holiday is upcoming. Those mummies who put really hard to improve their children's marks,i wish those parents's children to get good marks.Do not be put down if your children has not done well or left some questions blank.Do not think of the marks. You all need a well deserved break.
For the children, one thing to say.Enjoy with your schoolmates for these 2 months.DO NOT be afraid of your marks. As long you have the confidence and the mind set to do well in your up coming secondary years, you'll definitely reach your goals even if you fail to satisfy it in PSLE as in to get into a good school
Staying relaxed and relieved,
Charsen. -
10 months of hardwork, will pay off on the paper.

Hi all here,
May I know whether there are any advantages taking the much more difficult Higher Chinese? Is this a requirement to gain admission into a SAP school?
My DS is P4 now, have to decide to choose Higher Chinese or not at end of this year right?
TIA,
Xiaohu[/quote]Your child can still go to a SAP school if he meets the COP even without taking HCL.He will be able to gain up to 3 points if he takes higher Chinese. However, these 3 points could be used to apply for SAP schools only. You could let your son takes higher Chinese if he gets band 1 for his Chinese. He must do well in all his subjects in P5 (including higher Chinese) in order to continue with his higher Chinese in P6. -

I understand how you feel. I still have a dd in P1. Already stress by her show & tell & mastery tests.Hi Mum of 3,
I've not heard of many parents who mention their kids' schools giving quality coaching for PSLE. It's nothing but QUANTITY. That's why many parents and kids are stressed out. I had tension headaches almost everyday.
Doing and doing and doing past year papers one after another.
Is THIS method the only way to revise for PSLE ?
If this method works, why would parents have to bring in tutors ?
Even if this method is the way to go, students are not taught to answer OE questions to score those precious marks. Science is a killer subject...it's wordy but not some storybook that students can read and learn how to answer. Keyword, my foot.
I'm not completely done with PSLE...my younger one is only in P2. As such, I feel that SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE. -
The torture started last year. But that was for P5 :faint:
P6 this year is another set of torture :lightrod:
After 9 months, it's finally over...but it is not considered truly over yet, bcos results are not out and sec school posting is not known till Dec.
PSLE 2013. Parents, prepare your kids in November. -
:congrats:

I would like to make good use of Year end holiday. Through your experience, how would you suggest parents start to prepare our kids starting from November? -

Scrutinise your DC's SA2 exam papers and identify strengths and weaknesses. The year hols is the best time to conquer all weak areas before taking on p6. Speak or email all his/her teachers to help identify areas to work on and tips on how to improve.
For me, I broke every thing down to specific areas with a strategy for each one.
This really worked for me. My greatest pleasure this year was to see a confident DD who did not have a stressful year. -

Yes, I definitely agreed with Janet that you need to prepare your kid in November. That was what I did & my DD didn`t really feel so stressed towards PSLE. In fact, on the days/nites before the PSLE exams papers, she was even allowed to chill out with friends & watch TV & thankfully during the PSLE exams, she seems to take it very well as compared to her classmates. And I`m a strong believer in consistent results throughout P4 & P5. best regards,
