      KoalaMummy:
How about schools like St Andrew's, St Gabriel, Maris Stella?

Which of these are the better ones?
I prefer Maris Stella as it is SAP school. Maris Stella only has Express whereas the rest have both Express and Normal.

I asked as my aunt wanted her son to go NA in St Hildas but his score was 20+ and she said no option to go NA. Told her to go MOE and ask for special provision but I believe she din do that. This was many yrs ago.

Another niece had 19+ last yr and parents opted for NA instead of Exp for her in a gd sec sch in the east. She’s doing very well - top in class and hoping to transfer to Exp next yr but i believe she’ll struggle as her overall % is just slightly more than 70 instead of 80%. I told her NA pace is more suitable for her and so what if she needs 5 yrs instead of 4 yrs to complete her O levels. Age no longer matter when you are in uni, as i realised i have classmates who repeated o or a levels, some are from poly and the guys have to serve 2 yrs in the army… I thot I saw the sparkle in her eyes!

Yes, if the pace in NA is not so stressful, it will suit her more. Your niece may even do better for her O levels at the end of 5 years. That 1 year is not a big deal actually...study at her pace instead of cramming.

That's right....A and A* ( and other grades) in PSLE is NOT PREFIX, unlike in School exams.

I have posted in this thread and also have enclosed a reply from MOE. Here is the link.

..you still have a few more years :rahrah:

still have some more years to accumulate money for tuition, ah?
lol. let's say with 2 subject tuition, i see ds calibre as 23X-24X, but with 4 subject tuition, i think he may be able to hit 25X. so how? :scratchhead:
                  :moneyflies:

If there is a need to go for 4 subjects, then I guess you don't have much choice. Especially for Math, having a strong foundation is very important. Tuition is optional if he is getting for the subjects.

if my ds cop is able to go into his affiliated sec school, do i still need to fill in the other 5 schools?

By not filling up the rest, MOE might just allocate you a school that is not your choice if you can't get into your first choice school.

Pecalis, tt is very good advice for your niece. There is really no hurry to complete O levels. Best is for kids to do it at a pace most suited for them and enjoy studying.

my understanding is also 220 need 4As. 😓

my husband is different cohort as me, but he got 3As plus 1A* donkey years ago, but lower aggregate score than my 4As. 😓
I guess yours were higher end As & your hubby had lower end As. Another possibility is that yours was a weaker cohort & his was a stronger cohort.
