        Hi Ivar,

Interest the child to exercise & moderate what he/she eats. As children are growing, it's best not to limit the range of food they eat but rather watch how much & what type of food they consume. Cut down on junk food & soft drinks especially. As for supplements, got to be very careful cos' poor quality ones may do more harm than good. Further, some may be unsuitable for children that are too young.

Stay away from emotional eating and weight gain. Decrease stress and get lots of sleep; both factors are based on emotional eating.

              Hi Ivar,

Exercise and food portion control are important. First and foremost, determine the amount of weight the child need to lose. Base on that, set goal and encourage more physical activity. Do not let the child snack on soft drink and junk food. Always ensure proper meal time.

Kindly try to avoid health supplement as it makes the child think that it is some miracle route of losing weight and lead to more unhealthy eating.

I just blog about \"Obesity a growing epidemic\" this morning as I think that it is a health issue that can be prevented.

exercise with him or her, so the child will be motivated that the parent is doing together:) Introduce healthier eating and cutting down on sugary drinks and more home cooked food is better than popping any pills.

think for kids the best way is to stay away from sugary stuff and fried food. If already not consuming much of both, then quite :scratchhead:

Kids have high metabolism rate so should lose weight easily. Eat more dishes but less rice (carbo)

Exercise! Hubby and I always bring our 2 sons to bedok reservoir to jog at least 3 times a week.
