oh dear...this is so so so awful :yikes: . Saw their faq and I almost fainted (on the part of parental consent not needed unless patient is less than 14)!

How to increase our TFR if abortion is touted so clinically by the doctor in the ad?

I know of friends who went through abortions ('cos \"accidents\"/ cheated by boyfriends etc) and it is certainly no walk in the park. Most went through a lot of psychological pain over a long period of time (sometimes years).
I had a sort of abortion because the baby had died in my womb. It is not so simple at all, and I was under the care of a very good obstetrician. The emotional part was also very hard. I was very very distraught afterwards for a long time... replaying the day compulsively in my head.

Can hear them screaming \"NO!! NO!!\" as they cling on to the wall of the womb! :yikes:

P.S. Not referring to Chen's...unfortunately my post came after hers.

I feel as badly about abortion as many of you, but I feel its really the attitudes more than the ads that matter. Unfortunately our founding fathers saw it fit to introduce very liberal abortion policies that are stuck till this day.

I dare not judge pro or against. It’s a very volatile topic with strong arguments either way. I can only share that for me, it was really a very awful time… My husband didn’t understand why I couldn’t let go. But then, he did not have a living being INSIDE him.

                  straffan23:
I first discovered this two years ago when I wanted to give away all my maternity clothes to charity. So I googled for \"Shelter for pregnant teen, Singapore\". The Singapore Abortion Centre stood out as an ad. I was curious so I went to check out the website and to see what it's about. I did not like what I saw, as it made abortions sounds like a walk in the park.

I was furious. I wrote to the both the MCYS and MOH. MCYS says it's an ad and they can't do anything; but MOH says they will look into this. I was told that there are specific guidelines for advertisements for medical procedures etc and there's likely a breach there. Unfortunately, two years on, and everytime I google something about pregnancy, that particular centre still stand out on the top of the ads.

Am I over-reacting? Any doctors here? Isn't there a rule against advertising services for abortion? That being said, I do believe that the option should be available... but perhaps when people do a specific search on the topic of abortion?
You can still write to the DPM Teo Chee Hean

It's really not easy to let go... my mum had to go through it twice before she had me as the foetus(s) stopped growing after a while. And she still can't let go of the pain (emotional) even though she's already 80 years old...

Oh yes... that was what happened. It stopped growing and then there was no more heartbeat. I understand how your Mom feels. I sometimes still think of what that child would have become and what it looks like... and I don't even know if it was a boy or a girl.

                        Sun... mucho gracias
