Recently just took the flight to bkk the cathay crew face was so unfriendly and they are not helpful at all. Black faces all the way. Some china people ask for drinks many time they will give them a vey rude face.

Just came back from BKK 2 weeks ago. My son did not like the beef noodles (kid menu),thus asked the crew for a instant noodle instead. The crew brought the noodle and told my hubby that the noodle was the only packet that she could find. And she ‘warned’ my hubby that if next time my kid did not like the kid’s menu, informed them upfront. I was so angry with their service and told my hubby that this was the first and last time we would fly by Cathay pacific airlines.

Hi,
I had in a way good and bad experience during my trip to Tokyo by Cathay. When we departed from Singapore–> Transit at HK –> Tokyo, the pilot was sicked, thus they needed to fly another pilot from HK to Singapore. The flight was delayed for 2 hours and we were given lunch vouchers. When the flighted arrived HK, there was no connecting flight to Tokyo, we were given free accomodation at airport hote, dinner and breakfast vouchers. As my first night hotel in Tokyo would be paid during check in, thus I have no loss if we did not check in. On the other hand, I saved 1 night accomodation for 3 rooms (we travelled in a group of 6) in Tokyo and we had travel insurance compensation of $250 per person. At the end, the loss is actually the gain to me.
When we departed from Tokyo –> Transit at HK –> Singapore, again the flight broke down and it was discovered by the pilot when it was moving on the runway. The flight turned back and all the passengers were asked to get down. We had to wait for the next plane, which delay about 5 hours. No insurance claimed as it did not meet the minimum 6 hours delay. -
i guess i am lucky since i took cx abt 5-6times everything was good,
staff n crew are all smile n friendly…i once almost miss my flightback hm
n they were everywhere looking for me untill thevery last min.
i amgrateful for that…
however if i sq has my flight time slot i will choose them over cathay… -
If it's business class, SQ is definitely better. Prefer the food on SQ and the way it is served. For CX, they placed the food on a trolley and push it down the aisle. This was many years back, not sure if it's still the same.
And Cathay planes, not as new as SQ.

I agree. On the last trip I took Cathay Pacific, at take off, the overhead compartment was rattling very loudly that it got me very nervous.

We took the 777 back from Tokyo on SQ and the aircraft interior is rather ‘weathered’ compared to their 380s…shall I say ‘not as well maintained’…

The 777s are very old aircraft on SQ fleet already.
