Am glad that I am not the only one preparing my DS for 2015 PSLE.

Went to DS Meet-the-parents last Wednesday, the English teacher shown us a sample of the composition, no longer four picture story board but three unrelated pictures.

He was saying they can choose one picture to write about or put these three pictures and create an essay.

Don’t know what he meant…really stress!!

This new English Syllabus only start at P4. Think the composition topic is so wide and is base on kids creativity to come out with story line. I wonder how they mark the relevancy. Will the kid write out of point if given this situation? It also quite difficult to train the kid. At least it is good that the teacher show you the change beginning of the term. For my DS school, the meet the teacher session is end of Term 1.

OMG! but are there any compo books showing such picture compo’s for our reference or so…

I always find that the compo’s done at school are not enough for our kids to master them…

For this new format, yet to see any compo book in the market. Our 2003 kid is first batch. Hope that the teacher will be more focus to keep things on track.

                    Pinkybear,

Most of the kids now a days are showing this behaviour.
I feel that partially it's my mistake as I have been giving her too much guidance.

This year I am going to let her make her own decisions (of course I will watch over her like mother hen).
If she never does her homework, I will not remind her. Will only give a gentle clue by asking if she has any task from school?
I will not tell her to practice her Chinese spelling, or prepare for any test. If she cannot remember that tomorrow she has got an exam.. Then god help her..

Just keeping my fingers crossed that she learn to be responsible for her actions or face the consequences.
I need to monitor my dd closely. I have been nagging at her to do her Chinese assignment book since last week. Until now she hasnt started. Sigh....

I think the chinese is getting more and more difficult. Hope my ds is able to cope.

Agree totally. Especially the Chinese Compo. They need to learn quite a number of phrases. My DS Chinese teacher get them to learn those phrases by giving them mo xie weekly.
