Maxine,
My son is very choosey with food too. So far only eat chicken rice and sandwich from the canteen.
He is from St Helen 1. He has no chinese spelling list. I just checked with him after I saw this post.
Btw, do the P1 parents here know what is being taught in school? So far Math not taught right? For English, only Stellar handwriting? I asked him but he can't tell me much. As for Chinese, he was asked by his Chinese teacher to recite the hanyu pinyin to me.
I got spelling list already. Best part is come back with 4 tables with no dates given. Then next day teacher made them write the dates on the individual tables. By next Wednesday I got to teach her 12 Han Yu Pin Yin spelling. And she doesnt like chinese.
Oh ya - I don think they learnt Maths yet. Her textbook looks very clean.
Melodyrain, your son still can eat chicken rice and sandwich . Not bad leh. BTW - any idea how much is chicken rice or sandwich? My girl very blur. Ask her she say dont know. :slapshead:
I wonder is it just mine or its normal for kids transiting from childcare to P1 so blur?? :?: Also she is so tired after school its so hard to get her to do the work she is supposed to. Its only the first week with bare minimum homework and yet she is tired that she don even want to sit down for an hour to just do it.... -
Chicken Rice is $1, cheese or egg sandwich is 40cts.
-
Yes chicken rice is $1. My son told me cheese or egg sandwich is 50 cents.
I bought sandwich for snack after the orientation, the stallholder collected 50 cents from me too.
As for food, I am asking him to try the nasi lemak too since it is also one of his favourite food. But so far, he didn't. Dunno why......
I haven't look at the spelling list yet. Got Daddy to sign the other day. DS also doesn't like chinese, we are trying to change his attitude since....years ago.... :frustrated:
For Math, I thought they started this week? I saw some answers scribbed in the blanks.
I think your daughter is used to napping in the afternoon? Childcare centres will get the children to nap after lunch? My son napped twice. Once on the first day which I forced him to nap and once this week when he dozed off playing on his bed. -
Hi,
Have anyone tried logging on to the AsknLearn? My son tried using his last year’s password, but it does not work anymore. -

Hi,Hi,

Try via this http://lms.asknlearn.com/DLSS//ParentLogon.aspx as I could not access the AsknLearn but could via the link I provided. Let me know if you can

Hi Sysac,
I have been using the same link that you provided last year, and it worked well. But I am unable to log in since the new school year. Perhaps they are re-setting the system for the new school year? I will try again in a few days.
Thanks! -
Hi Parents,
Would like to enquire - anyone here whose DS/DD taking Robotics CCA? Can share details of the selection process please.
:thankyou: -
Any P1 parents went for the briefing yesterday afternoon? Can share the details with me? Thanks
-
Hi SAHM Chew, I went to the briefing last Thursday afternoon. The presenters highlighted their focus on holistic education as opposed to purely academic. They also explained that the first term is a "practice" term for P1 students and their academic performance in Term 1 does not have any impact on their overall marks for P1.
They said the presentation will be posted on the DLSS website but they haven’t done so as of today. -

Will look out for the presentation slides.
