Many parents refuse to believe that it cannot be prep.

Well, apparently there are centres which claim success rate of x%, so I guess parents will still try...

Hahaha this is so true. :rotflmao:
I only heard some parents I know complaining that they wasted $$$ after the envelopes are distributed. πŸ™‚ Before that, this group of parents liked to make disparaging remarks about gep. Little did I know they were so keen to get in that they spent a small fortune (to me lah). People are funny sometimes.

Then they pass even more disparaging remarks AFTER their children don't get in and they've spent a small fortune.

Yes  and after they calm down, they start to enquire which other centres to send the younger siblings for prep.
Not only that, 3-4yrs later when PSLE and DSA come, they would question the merit of this 2 systems if their wards cannot succeed in DSA :siam:

If can prep then all should get in why only some x% gets in ? why is there still those without prep ( mean w/o those material n training) gets in? Isn't materials given to all and all have the same training then all should get in? Isn't becos of this claim that ppl want GEP material to be given to all? :?
Usually they will not admit sending for prep course before the result is out.

How about this one? When the kid doesn’t get in, say that the kid purposely didn’t do well so won’t be selected. Then why go for the test to begin with?

i feel that shud not prep the kids for GEP. then only the \"real\" gifted kids will get into GEP.

Those GEP prep courses are long term, just like enrichment πŸ™‚ and most of the mothers i knw will keep it as a \"Top Secret\" ! even after the result released.
