      Hi Parents

I am thinking of enroling my daughter to ballet class. She has always shows interest in it. She is 6 turning 7 this year (Primary 1). We ever tried letting her try before but she was very timid and cried throughout the lessons. We gathered she is not suitable to be taught my caucasians and class mainly comprises of caucasians. This is also the case when she tried Speech and Drama class.

She has no problem attending classes with locals as I found out with different enrichment class she attended. My conclusion is that we asians are more protective to our kids, and as such resulted in kids being more clingy and less open to new environment if being left alone in a new place. This is what my daughter is.

As such, I have yet to find her a good ballet school that is taught by locals and attended by local kids. I stay at Queenstown and hope to find a ballet class/school that is not so far away.

      Any suggestions?
      Hi erichew,

You can try Bukit Merah CC, there are some classes teach my asian (local chinese). She is Ms Edna Teo, her classes are all on saturday. You can call the CC to find out more. Ms Teo is very patience and gentle, should not be a problem for your DD.

      Hope this help 🙂

Any of you with children with Nafa (ballet) and how do you find their program? Understand they don’t take external exam for every grade, in fact, only alternating grade, does that matter??

              Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

                Hi,

I would really love to let my dd try out ballet. But she is wearing spectacle now. Would it be a problem? She is 5plus. Thanks.

                    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. But if the time comes when they have to take exam or perform, will there be any problem?
