Hi, at that age, better to go on group lessons in music schools. It's more fun in a group environment, and attention span of the child usually would not be enough for individual home piano teacher. -

Yes, agree with Waiyean. Group lessons better for younger children. Their fine motor skills may not be developed yet. Both my children when through music appreciation classes before starting piano at 5+ years old. Check out their teacher's website here: http://www.kidsmusichub.com/ -

It really depends on your child. Only you know best.
Mine started 1-to-1 lessons on piano at 2yrs 11mths. and violin 1-to-1 at 3yrs 1mth.
I sent him for music playgroup between 17mths' old to 2+yo. -

Why not? We are still using both keyboard and piano. Course fee depends on the school/ private teacher. $100-$200 per month?hi, my daughter is 6yr old this year, and she is learning keyboard at yamaha music school. i would like to start her on individual lesson, however is it possible to start with keyboard as we do not have piano at home. How much are the lessons, can pm me at [email protected].
Thanks. -

You are wasting your $$$ if you start formal lessons without intention to purchase a piano within 2/3 months. Do not expect fast progress. 2 years down the road, your child may have difficulty coping, gets reprimanded by teacher for 'not practising properly( which is not his/her fault). Slowly, interest is lost.....hi, my daughter is 6yr old this year, and she is learning keyboard at yamaha music school. i would like to start her on individual lesson, however is it possible to start with keyboard as we do not have piano at home. If you are serious in your child learning successful, get a proper upright piano as soon as you start lessons. -
Hi,
I’m looking for a piano teacher for my 9 year old girl. Any good recommendation? Preferably someone who is fun, love and able to interact with children, and most importantly, able to keep her interest for piano alive. My gal has previously learned for about a year and stops after that. The previous piano teacher is kinda dull and kills her interest.
I prefer teacher to come to my place to conduct lesson. I’m staying in AMK ave 4 area.
Kindly pm me.
Thanks in advance. -
Hi all,
I’m looking for piano teacher to teach my girl, age 9, at my place. She learns piano for a short while and would like to restart the lesson again. The teacher shall be someone able to interact well with kids and able to motivate and keep her interest in piano alive.
Please pm if you have anyone to recommend.
I’m staying in AMK Ave 4 area.

Hi,
My child takes piano lessons from a private teacher at Blk 31, Bishan Loft. She stopped lessons in December and hasn’t resumed since despite numerous follow-up calls from us. She cited the Dec holidays, then start of school, then CNY,…as reasons. Is it normal for a piano teacher to stop lessons for 3 mths, with no start date in view? Anyone has the same experience? I really don’t know how long more I have to wait.
