Your hubby play the \"ho lang\" :grphug: , you play the \"pai lang\" :spank: .That hubby at home makes my blood boil sometimes...he never practise what he preach...we agreed NO TV but he switches it on, saying he wants to watch news...after that, he doesn't switch it off
If I am hanging laundry or doing something, then father, son and daughter will all be watching channel 8. Kids will get a shock when I walk into the room. -

Yes, that is why my DD likes her father too[/quote]It is very common for daddy to play good guy & let mummy plays the bad guy. Daddy spends more time working & less time with the kids. He will prefer to pamper them whenever he can.

Daddy will always play GOOD guy...but I told him if he wants to spoil, I will push everything to him...planning revision, liaise with tutor, discipline issues, school and household stuff. Then I sit down and watch TV or play games.
When I caught them watching TV last night, I asked my son if geography is taught on channel 8...asked daughter if that Taiwan drama will help her pass spelling and asked hubby if he was watching news. :nunchuk: -

It may be a good idea for you to go 'on strike' for a week or so? Just leave the kids to study as much or as little as they want, and let them suffer the consequences. Nothing like suffering a bit for them to learn self-discipline.Daddy will always play GOOD guy...but I told him if he wants to spoil, I will push everything to him...planning revision, liaise with tutor, discipline issues, school and household stuff. i wish i can go on strike...but with SA1 coming, everyday is important.
son's mid-year exam time table is OUT !!!
the dates start from 30 Apr till 14 May...art is on last day and it is 2.5 hour paper :yikes: i told him i cannot help...my drawing of a cat and dog looks the same  -

But it's only sec 1 and only SA1, so it's the least 'risky' time for the foreseeable future. Sec 1 results don't impact his future much, if at all, and if he learns discipline and independence, any drop in grades will be worth it. There will still be time for him to pick up before the end of sec 2, and once he has learned his lesson, it will be easier in sec 2. Similarly for your daughter too, there is still a long time before PSLE. I remember I tried 'letting go' more when my older girl was around P5, but it didn't work as she was just unable to cope because of her learning issues and weakness in planning and organisation. But we tried again at sec 1 because we felt that it was the best time to do it and it worked quite well. She's still not perfect, but I don't need to hover over her like I used to.i wish i can go on strike...but with SA1 coming, everyday is important.

Agree wf u. My dh asked me to let go,let him study on his own n bear consequence by himself. My son is also P3, there r many homework to do, revision to catch up n CCA.Yes, indeed,he also has learning issues n unable to plan for himself.

At times, i let go,if he refused to listen, i just didn't bother n he would take out the homework n do by himself, however,by the time he did that,it oredi very late in the evening where everybody is rather tired from work n hsework, yet, still to hv to coach him.
The schedule is always very rushing. They've tests,SA,oral/compo test, everything come together right after term1 break.
just like what u mentioned b4,if u notice the plant is going to dry out, will u leave it or water it??
