PLMGS teaches good values and really groom the children well. Have a few life testimonies. Hence would like to consider enrol DD into.

However, I am staying >2km away from PLMGS. May i know what is my chances of getting into PV or under P2C? Or I should not even consider.

And just hope to get in through transfer?

Appreciate your advise.

Transfer wait list also very long. I was told priority to transfer goes to those who live near to school.

PV is better, P2C is considered very risky. even based on last year where SG were priority, balloting has always been down for 1-2km.

Does PLMGS subscribes to Red Dot or any magazines apart from AdVenture and Nat Geo?

If transfer takes place before end of P1 - if you're a Methodist church member & staying nearby, transfer is easier.


But if transfer occurs after end of P1 onwards, the school will start to look at your child's academic results + any contribution from niche cca(s) that PLMGS value(s), or competition / contests that your child had taken part in before, & had displayed confidence.

if you look at her Transfer Application form into PLMGS -
besides asking for \"Reason(s) for Transfer\", notice that the Form itself request interested applicant(s) to attach their detailed academic results ?

I have a daughter studying at P4.

This year for the first time, P4 students are going to have their school camp as they are replacing the P5 camp with 4 camp from this year onwards.

Looking at their camp itineraries, personally I feel that they are still too young to handles
all these activities. Moreover, the date chosen for the camp is right smack in-between SA1 Oral week and SA1 Paper 1 week. A lot of parents are not happy about the camp date and we really feel that the planning of timing is very bad. For the past, school camp was held just one week before September 1 week schooh break.

Maybe this is the decision made by the new Principle and new Vice Principle.

Perhaps they want the P5 to focus more on their PSLE preparation…

This is a good move. I would like my child to be exposed to more camping trips in future if she can get balloted in. Schooling experience is not all about studying and preparing for exam. A balance of outdoor activities provides that catalyst for the children to be more active in outdoor activities instead of focusing on studying. No play makes Jack a dull boy. This move by the principal or whoever is certainly a good one. Camping trips are exciting and children can learn independence skills. Thank you for telling us that there will be camping trips for P4.

My dd transferred at end P2. The above did not apply in our case. However, we n left it in God's hands.

Personally, I dun c a problem with the dates. It's oral n paper 1, nothing much to prepare - at least not as heavy as main papers. I want my kid to understand that preparation of exams should not be left to the last minute. Since the camp dates has been given in advance, she will hv to revise/prepare ahead n work around it. Better to hv the camp in P4 than P5. That's where the girls feel the heat of PSLE.

Who makes that decision is immaterial.

However, if u feel strongly about the dates, I'd encourage u to feedback to the management.

Just my humble opinion.

Oh wow! camp starts at P4 now? DD1 will be very happy What kind of activities? It is conducted within the school instead of external hence we should probably give our kids more credit than they would deserve?

by having it before the SA Oral and SA1 would lessen the pressure and also, with the camp. This is just my assumption that the active mingling would also build up the participation of interactions relates to oral?

then again, there are probably a group of parents with kids who needs more help and finds the camp dates unsuitable as they need to have all the time to prepare the child?
