Where in the west? IMHO, Dazhong, Bt Timah Pri have more than ample vacancy for >2km at 2C. Rulang, South View will be tough unless u r alumni. PEPS also possible depending on take up rate.

if you intend shift to the west -
based on the address of your new accommodation (eg: your new flat coming or your new condo TOP within 1 km), and by looking at historical detailed analysis (trend from 2006 to 2012), you should be able to see for yourself -
which school(s) in the west (apart from Rulang) you can possibly choose :-

use MOE recommended distance range tool, to identify which schools lie within 1 km, from your new address. This will help you narrow down your choice of schools, in the west.

how west is your west, being defined ?
schools in choa chu kang and bukit batok areas are also considered locted west.

however, if you decide to remain in Sengkang (ie. don't shift), then the possible choice of schools (past balloting trend) for you to consider are here :-

if both you & your husband are working, no maid nor parents in law to help look after your child after school, then you need to find a primary school that offer an \"After School\" care centre. Not all primary schools got this convenience. So you have to narrow down your search again.

I am in a dilemma! Can’t decide between Mee Toh or Rulang. We are staying in Punggol and is able to register DD under P2B. As I am an ex student from Rulang so it will be P2A2. We have the intention to shift back to the West in the near future.

Anyone know the odds of getting into Mee Toh under P2B?

Should i let her go to Mee Toh and then transfer her to Rulang when we shift back to the West or straightaway let her go to Rulang?

Just enrol your kid directly into rulang, since u can enter under 2a. RulAng is confirmed case. Is a straight walk in case. So many parents dying to ballot into rulang. So many parents in the west under phase 2b, 2c can’t wait to enter rulang.


Dun create unnecc stress for yourself Abt mee toh. Touch wood - what if cant ballot into mee toh under 2b? Or what if get into mee toh already then next time yr new house top in the west, then u seek transfer into rulang, can’t get trsf? Rulang is not an easy school to get a transfer. Trsf queue is long. Then You’re stuck. Yr new house waiting for you in the west but your child study in mee toh …

Transfer into popular schools like rulang is not easy. The moment phase 2b or 2c end during p1 registration, those who failed to ballot in during 2b or 2c will start filling up application form quickly for transfer, & submit to school. Some of them have been queuing for a few years, hoping to hear news of transfer to come.
