GOOD IDEA!!!Apart from growing your own herbs, you can teach Science to your kids using the plants to help them understand plant parts and their functions, plant lifecycle & reproduction, etc. Makes science lessons more fun and engaging for your child

Just wondering... the seeds I bought from KAP CS were dated April 2009... almost 2 years ago.. I wonder if they will grow.Dh my plant doctor also mentioned that if u intend to grow flowers, better to get them from more reputable nurseries or bigger supermarkets, where they probably have a higher turnover of plant seeds sales.
Also, he mentioned that don't be discouraged if the flowers take some time to bloom or sometimes it may not bloom at all. There are occasions that the seeds are of poor or old quality. Alternatively, it can be due to our climatic or soil conditions that are not conducive for growing that particular variety of flower plant. A lot depends on luck and trial and error. So it's definitely not because u do not have green fingers and thumbs.
No harm giving it a try. In fact, I find it rather therapeutic to see a bit of nature in the house. Bringing a bit of the outside into the inside, if u know what I mean. Really reminds me to slow down and smell the flowers (or in this case, enjoy my sunflower).
Balm for the soul, especially in this rat race world.
I'm going to the nursery to get the sunflower seeds and herbs this evening. Yesterday I started observing and looking around for sunflowers and realised that my neighbour has 3 large sunflowers... so beautiful!.. and I start dreaming and imagining them in my house.... -
See what I bought yesterday! Was supposed to just get the SUNFLOWER seeds, but unfortunately, it ran out of stock, so ended up with these...

Photos were taken after I bought these and while waiting for DD...
I decided to grow them in pots as I find the pots so cute and I love the colours... and I also decided to buy new soil... This time, DIE DIE MUST SUCCEED!!! :celebrate: -

I refrain from growing chillis as I think it'll attract birds, though I'm surprised birds can take chilli.
If not mistaken, some birds sing and chirp better after taking chilli. No kidding!! -
