Is the answer " has"?

2. None of the pupils _______________ (has or have)?
Is the answer "has"?

I assume that as it seems that zero person is involved. But some assessment books put" have " in their answe key?

Please help to clarify.Thanks very much!

Hi AgonyMum, am a student not a mum, but I hope I can shed some light on your problem

The answer to both is actually has.

For Q1, neither is actually \"not either\" and has to take a singular pronoun.

For Q2, none is \"not even one\", and since one is singular, a singular pronoun will have to follow suit

For 2, the typical usage is for the verb to agree with the nearest noun.

I thought the answer should be it’s?
