Yes, you can get it from Popular Bookstore. It should be less than $2. Take note, you must be sure that his wallet can be attached to the \"spring / coil attachment\". Some wallet does not comes with any ring or anything to be attached.Hi everyone!
Thanks or sharing all the info. Really helpful for those of us who are inexperienced! I think the spring attachment thingy idea is brilliant. Do you know where I can get it from? Popular?
Didn't buy the shorts coz the woman at Bibi and Baba said it wasn't necessary.
My boy is really looking forward to P1, and so am I! -
2bbtang,
Thanks! Bought the thing, and i can attach it to the wallet. But you know what, I can’t hook it to the pants as the clip is too small. ThInk will have to sew a loop onto the shorts, or use a safety pin… -

What most boys will do are hook into the \"button hole\" on the side. You can try it.2bbtang,

By the way, which class is your boy in? -
Hi,
Hope this reply is not too late.
There are 3 days with PE lessons.
Don't need to buy the PE Shorts.
Just buy the tank tops will do. Cos' there isn't time for the boys to go change from their school shorts to PE Shorts. During the PE days, just get your boy to wear the tank top inside the white shirt.
Hope this is useful.
And welcome to ACS jr!happymom_aa:
Hi Happymom
You can call up the ACJS transport office at 67375082 to check with the driver in charge of the area;-)
Cheers
Thanks.
Will do so tomorrow.
Osakachan,
do you happened to know how many times PE per week for P2 kids?
Was trying to figure out how many set of uniform and PE attire to buy.
Thanks. -
Hi bbtang,
Thanks for all your helpful suggestions!!
Btw, i actually bought one of those springy coil things a few months ago... But was wondering, can the boys use a lanyard to attach to their wallet and hang it around their neck? You know, nowadays lanyards can look very fashionable and my ds has quite a few from Universal Studios, Disneyland, etc. Does the school allow them to carry their wallets using lanyards? Or would they look too silly??2bbtang:
Hi Happymom,happymom_aa:
Hi everyone,
My son will be in P1 next year. Sorry if this sounds like a silly question, but how much does the canteen food cost? Trying to figure out how much pocket money to give him.
Just checked out the canteen food while waiting for the books to be packed.
Prices generally range from $1 to $2, for noodle & rice items. Was very worried regarding lunch as DS is a super fussy eater.
After looking through the stalls, DS actually told me he'll eat fried rice/chicken rice every day :stupid:
Would suggest around 1.50 to 2.00. Personally, feel that food are not cheap though. Encourage your child to bring along water bottle during recess (those with sling carrier). And label it with his name and Class (Very important)
Just a suggestion, it is very common for boys to leave their wallet on the table or bench.. and they will run off without checking. Get your child a wallet and get a \"spring attachment\" or \"Coil Keychain\" which one end attached to the wallet and the other end, you can hook onto the child's pant. This way, your child will be \"reminded\" to put in the wallet into the pocket everytime after using. (if you need the picture of how it look, let me know, I will try to take a picture of it).
Cheers!
-

Hmm... I don't really see any boys using lanyard with wallet. But I'm not sure for this year P1 will there be any one using that. But I did saw boys using lanyard to hook the name tag (which the P1 boys will wear it for the first few weeks).Hi bbtang,
Thanks for all your helpful suggestions!!

Cos' I personally feel, the wallet can be quite distracting for the boy, he might keep playing with it. And wallet is heavier than a name tag. And also during PE, he have to remove the wallet and might misplace it somewhere. Just my thots.
Cheers! -
In the end I think my son doesn’t need a wallet at all. He didn’t spend any money for the first two days! He would rather eat from his lunchbox. I think it’s still quite intimidating for the boys to buy from the stalls.
I think he has settled in quite well! Hope everyone has had a good first few days of school! -
Hi! My son’s in 1.8. So far so good…glad he didn’t cry in school. Was informed by the bibibaba pple that there will be a new design of shorts out after Jan 20 which is longer than the current PE shorts. So got to check with them again after the 20th.
