Angelsky:
I feel it is more appropriate if the teachers and principal provide more updates to parents during Nov Orientation and next year P1 Parents' Briefing in either Jan/Feb. Though I have all the info on hand as my child is P1, I also have to respect the school to let the school teachers and principal communicate the updated info to parents. For p1, are there semestra exams? Or just normal homework for the girls?
thanks, wondering if my girl can cope in p1.
Try to attend the P1 Picnic if there is one next year to mingle with parents from your daughter's class. -

One thing I want to share is it is very important for parents to attend Orientation with their daughters in Nov. Parents need to verify and update data on Pupil Particulars, Edusave Fund and GIRO application on that day. You also need to fill up a dental form. You will be given a form to indicate if you want your child to attend Catechism class if she is not a Catholic. Catholic compulsory to attend. My child is not Catholic but I allow her to attend Catechism class. She has learnt a lot. If you chose not to opt for Catechism for your girl, then your girl will attend Value Education class instead of Catechism class.
Thank you
, felt so relieved after registering DD in phase 2C at MCS and positive comments on the sch too.
Bring a pen along. Orientation day can buy books from bookshop but I choose to order online. Uniform vendor will be coming down but the queue is very long. My advice is you visit the shop that sells uniform and PE attire on another day or you must have a lot of patience to join the uniform queue. Bus operators will also come down on Orientation Day. Sale of uniform and transport arrangement was done in canteen for last year's Orientation in a systematic way.
Orientation is for parents to better understand the school processes and to seek clarification. Information on School practice and expectations will be shared too during Orientation. That's why it is better for the school to update the new parents

Hi anyone has any views on MCS?
Last I checked, there's 515 pages worth of views on MCS before your post. -
My DD will be starting P 1 in 2015 MCS . Am feeling both nervous and excited . How the years fly. They grow up so fast .

Hi nice to know another MCS parent.
Just three more months to P 1 .
Rhythmic gymnastics should be very good exercise for your girl .She's very young and still lots of time to grow.Does she do ballet too ? I heard that training can be quite tough. I guess you can guide her as you used to do rhythmic gym.too.
I wonder if CCA in primary school is compulsory.
Don't know if my Dd can wake up early for school .She eats very slowly and takes her own sweet time. -

my daughter has no problem waking up in the morning but she too takes her own sweet time to eat...i think i have to pack her recess food for a few months...i don't know how high the counter tops are in the temporary holding school...she's only 108 cm tall...
oh...i read that MCS offers Catechism classes for non-Catholics?.....are these classes conducted in school? does she also need to get baptised after finishing?
