All About Piano Lesson Costs

Why is there a high demand for piano teachers to prepare kids for exams recently. :?
-
I guess exams are here and piano lessons in school are too short to brush up all 3 songs and the other sections.
Recently a lot of students looking for teachers to listen to their playing and judge. Very busy!! -
just curious, how long does a teacher take to help a student prepare for the exam? 3mth? 6 mth?

Depends on individual. Some kids need a whole year to prepare, must remember that it’s not just pieces, it’s also the scales, sight reading and aural. In many ways, sight reading, scales and aural should be on-going, not just during exam period or for exams.

You mean the academic school? I know violin is taught in groups but I didn't realise piano lessons are offered as well.I guess exams are here and piano lessons in school are too short to brush up all 3 songs and the other sections.

It depends on many factors like the foundation and commitment of the students, how strict the teacher is, etc.just curious, how long does a teacher take to help a student prepare for the exam? 3mth? 6 mth?
For my decent students, it's between 6-9 months. They would be working on other pieces as well.
For weaker ones and/or those who put practicing at the bottom of their priority list, it's anywhere between 1-2 years. They will be working only on the 3 pieces.
Talented ones would take 3-4 months, with minimum practice. -
Hi all
I’m looking for an experienced piano teacher to come to my place (Tiong Bahru area) to teach my P1 son. He has been taking lessons at Yamaha and Cristofori, but hasn’t taken any exams yet. We prefer the lessons to be in the weekday mornings (any day from Mon-Thur).
For those who have good teachers to recommend, I’d appreciate a PM.
Thanks!
Cheers

Pls do not engage Joanne Chiew as a private music tcher. She is unscrupulous and capitalise on parent’s music ignorance and registers children in unaccredited and unrecognised music exam brd (or issue fake cert). She is currently a musc tcher in Sonare music sch in sengkang. It’s a scam. Beware.

I have heard a lot about private teachers doing house work while teaching, wearing their night gowns and teach etc
So I am a little scared of all these nonsense. I rather go to a school, and I know the teachers are a little more serious and professional at a proper work place.
Just my 2 cents. -
Can someone here advise…is $95 per mth for 1/2hr piano lesson reasonable? and ya, one to one lesson.

This is close to the 'per hour' rate I usually charge beginners for home tuition. But my lesson is 45min and I do student concerts about twice, annually.
