Hi,Based on the reply posted on the SJI website, regarding their IP pgm status, does it look like SJI is almost successful in getting an IP pgm??
Should one base the school choice of SJI, hoping to get into their IP pgm ??? I am in a fix as my boy can surely get into SJI and if SJI will get a 6 yr pgm by next yr, it would be perfect for him. Any insights from the grapevines ???
Assoc Prof KOH THIAM SENG's very impressive and SJI has received the coveted SEA Award .
Why SJI engaged such a high profile AP from NTU-MOE as the New Principal?
IP...............................101%
juz my opinion.
Cheers!

Hi harini, i think you should go for SJI.Based on the reply posted on the SJI website, regarding their IP pgm status, does it look like SJI is almost successful in getting an IP pgm??

You may want to call up SJI and ask if they should be successful in implementing the 6 yr program, will u have a choice to select or will the school select for you.
I read your other post in which you mentioned that you are also considering ACS(I) but is unsure whether the school will select your son for the 6 yr program.harini:
Hi, Need some expert advice. My son's score is 256, with Tamil HMT. He has set his heart on ACS(I)'s IB programme. The last year's COP for IB was 257/258. The process is to apply to ASC(I) and the school then offers some of the students IB, so no choice can be made from the students.
I am looking at IP programmes, if possible, so that no need to go thro' the O level torture again. NJC COP is 259,( too risky??). All other IP schools are SAP schools or dont have Tamil offered in school ...
Does anyone have any advice on chances of getting into ACS(I) IB with this score. Any other schools to consider ?? Thanks ... -

Harini, I just posted on the other forum on ACSI, that we are in exactly the same predicament, weighing the same factors/risks. I also prefer six yr no headache.. just one psle is quite enough, right?Based on the reply posted on the SJI website, regarding their IP pgm status, does it look like SJI is almost successful in getting an IP pgm??

I talked to SJI several times, they are not able to disclose much since things are not finalised and talks are ongoing. I'm not very sure if when implemented our boys will miss the boat, as I heard it takes a couple of years from APPROVE to IMPLEMENT.

Gosh, if takes another 2 more years, then no hope lah . I will call t'row and see what they say. Will keep u updated.
So looks like we r back to square one - still confused with our options -
Regardless of Ip or not, I still enrolling my son into SJI. seems to me like a nice school. Actually, to all the schools Iโm looking into, SJI seems to be the most friendly and color-blind (PM rally citation). Not also do they have good academics but they also seem to have good character building, one of the best, if not the best in singapore schools. They also have an exponentially less stressful environment than other top schools.

Hi,
Called up SJI today. Their status on IP is still unknown as they are still in talks with MOE. Also not sure when it will be started and if it will be offered to Sec1 or sec 2 students. So best is to make choice w/o IP.
I must agree with CentralControl, after talking to the SJI staff, I am very impressed with their friendliness and willingness to help. It looks like a very balanced school too. The only thing is have to take O level. Wish SJI gets their IP soon, will be a good choice for kids with COP 248 - 258 range. -
What really strikes me is that, regardless of its relatively low cut-off score for PSLE, they are still able to produce brilliant O-level results, with half the effort. With half the effort I mean, just look at how slack SJI is. The students justhang around and play. On weekends they go out and play again, very few homework, lots and lots of school holidays (not really holiday, but practically nothing to do in school but sing) but they still band 1!! its amazing. thats why I got my hearts sets so much on SJI. Its a top school, but it doesnโt act like it. soo humble. oh yeah, practically no bullying and no elitism within the school

oh dear... just singing and playing? I'll be concerned with that..
