Yes, if you score A1 - C6 for your third language ( Chinese / Malay / Bahasa Indonesia only ) in O levels, you get 2 bonus points.Hi!
Do many Cedarians take a 3rd language? If so, what's the popular choice? Bahasa Indonesia, Japanese, French or German? I'm asking in the hope that my daughter will choose the one that is popular so at least, there can be some practice between friends.
By the way, is there any advantage in picking up a 3rd language? besides personal edification. I mean, any bonus points for Junior College education?
TIA -

Hi, I am a Sec 2 student (2012) from Cedar Girls and I think Cedar's stress level is very tolerable. Every school is bound to have a certain amount of stress and I really don't think Cedar's stress is overwhelming. In fact, us Cedarians have so much fun in school and you seldom see people breaking down. As for the school bus, you may inquire with the school. And yes, many people do take buses from Aljunied. Hoping they would have a shuttle bus from Potong Pasir MRT to Cedar as well, because it is usually a long 10 min or 15 min walk. :roll:Hi to all parents and students of Cedar,
Do you find your school stressful? will my daughter still have time for piano practice, thinking of joing u, t score 253. Thanks!!! Any school bus from tampines area?
All of you who take to Aljunied mrt in the morns, shall we request for a school shuttle from Aljunied station...good idea? :xedfingers: maybe pick-up 7 am or 7.10am so no need to wait for bus 100 and walk in. -

Most Cedarians do not take up a 3rd language, but there are a few who take up as well (around 40-80) pupils. Most popular is CSP (Chinese Special programme) or MSP (Malay special programme) because these subjects are held in school. As for Jap, French and German, they are held in MOE centres.Hi!

Thank you, Haneyi and want_to_know for your replies,
How is Higher Chinese different from CSP? or are they the same thing? What do you learn in CSP? If not, is CSP treated as an O Level subject?
By the way, is there school bus service from Yishun? how early is the pick up? is it only one way … to school? what about after school? how much does it cost?
If you don’t have the answers, I’d appreciate the transport company contact number, so I can direct all my queries.
We attended the Cedar Open House last Saturday… and were deeply impressed!
Thank you. -

Hi Want_to_know,
Thanks for your reply. What are your typical shool hours like? Are they very long? -

i am (actually, was.) a student from cedar. the school hours are pretty long. they extended the school hours in 2012, which caused much displeasure. for your information, the school hours are from 730 (assembly) to 315 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. on Mondays and Thursdays, school ends at 135. however, if you are taking MSP/CSP, school ends at 315. -

Csp is for those not taking Chinese as a second language. Typically the non Chinese students will take csp and the non Malay students will take msp. Csp msp are o level subjects.Thank you, Haneyi and want_to_know for your replies,

If you reside at yishun, you might want to take mrt to AMK. From there, there is a direct bus to cedar. -
For those who are interested in taking MSP in Cedar, you could also participate in a Regional Studies Programme (RSP). Every week, the RSP pupils will attend a 1-period lesson during which they learn more about the ASEAN countries. RSP is not examinable but there will be homework and project work. If the pupil performs well in MSP, she could apply for a RSP scholarship. More information on RSP is available here:

hello. I've put Cedar as my second choice with aggregate 252. Do I still stand an equal chance of getting in despite it being my second choice? Will the COP increase? Thank you
