The WS's answer is 2. Is it correct?

      -24 / -10 + [-36 - 100 / (-5)] / 8
      = -24 / -10 + [-16 ] /8
      = -24 / -12
      = 2

        -24 / -10 + [-36 - 100 / (-5)] / 8
        = -24 / -10 + [-16 ] /8
        = -24 / -12
        = 2
        Same answer.

          hi,

Any good tutors or tuition centre to recommend for S1 Maths? My girl is in IP and she is often given challenging maths questions outside the normal syllabus, and I hv difficulty coaching her.

          thanks!
          hi there,

          which area are you at?

            -24 ÷-10 + [-36 - 100 / (-5)]÷ 8

            = 2.4 + (-16 ) ÷ 8
            = 2.4 - 2
            = 0.4

Think you have to work on the division (-24 / -10) first.

The answer 2 is correct if the question is phrased this way

            -24 ÷ { -10 + [-36 - 100 ÷ (-5)] ÷ 8 }
            = -24 ÷ [-10 + (-16)÷8]
            = -24 ÷ (-10 - 2)
            = -24 ÷ -12
            = 2

Just wondering, from here on, shouldn't it be the -24/-10 be done first ?
                = -24 / -10+ [-16]/8
                = 2.4 + [-2]
                = 2.4 -2
                = 0.4

                  I need some help here.

I remember during my time doing O Levels, I have a lot of Reference Book, This Reference book that I have, after each chapter has lots questions & model answers are provided at the end of the book. The questions are structured from easy to difficult. All past years papers pertaining to that chapter then followed.

But now, I find all the text books, only have notes. Like that how does the students practice to test their understanding ? Or am I missing something …

Any seniors here can help ?

                  Thanks

I am not so sure if A.Maths is a must for JC.

My understanding is that students can always take H1 Maths in JC, if they have not taken A.Maths at O-Levels.

However, the student may subsequently be limited in his choices for uni, especially engineering courses.

A Maths is often a must for popular course like Business and Accountancy in NUS and NTU
