Ok, understand his mum's concern......now. Don't think there are many job opening for comic drawing in Singapore? Is he very good in it? Nurturing kid's interest is important but sometimes need to be realistic when it comes to his bread & butter. If there is no financial issue, then i would said why not? If financially not that good, would suggest part-time course if any.If the kid is determine enough he can work and attend part-time course to support his interest. In this way, he can do what he likes and not put much financial strain on his mum. Oppsgal:Flowermonaster:Kids nowadays don't understand how difficult it is for their parents to earn money to support the family not to mention single parent. Not everyone has well-off and/or millionaire parents who can afford to support their interest. The son should be more understanding towrds his mum esp she is a single parent and it's not easy to bring him up. If she is going to support him to take up a course, of course she will want him to take something useful and be able to value-add when he goes to job market. I wanted to go NAFA when I was young but my mum objected as pure Arts to her is useless and of no market value. With her limited resources (money), she wanted me to study computer instead which I did. I have to study full-time and work part time to support myself. It's not my greatest interest but it has gotten me a job within a month of my graduation. My mum was happy and that's the most important factor. Not everyone can be so lucky to find a job of their interest. If we can't then try to be happy doing what we r doing! What kind of course he intend to take? ARTS/Music? Is he talented?He wants to do drawing of comics characters.

Most 2009 kids still haven’t been taught to read words yet. Now still at phonics phase. Learning to blend sounds later half of this year. As your gal is end 2009 (so only 3+), she might be a bit slower than those born in earlier half of 2009 who are already 4yo. Not to worry as long as she can remember the alphabet, the letter sounds, write the letters and numbers. It’s normal for very young kids to do mirror images of letters such as S, N, Z and also numbers 3, 7 etc. Dun worry.Most kids learn to read words by themselves in K1/K2. Of course no harm in sending her for enrichment classes such as I Can Read, Julia Gabriel etc…

kkh for both my kids (for the past 10 years) even when we were living in the east.ds had a fit in the middle of the night about 3 years ago. it was our 1st encounter and dh and i were really badly shaken by it. it was awful to see him limp in my arm, face turning blue and total out cold.staff were very efficient and though everything was still a blur (i was too upset) but Thank GOD he was fine. throughout the whole night, staff was constantly checking on dh and i too with kind gestures and words.my experience there has always been good. great and helpful staff (though some are a bit abrupt but that is just the way they speak) and drs are good. i have yet to find a suitable gp though for small illnesses. went back to our regular gp after being away for 2 years and he wasnt that friendly and a bit impatient. maybe he thought we went to another dr or ???

hii hv yet to compare textbooks prices from popular. But we just bought my gal textbook for P3 next year fm sch bookshop and total cost is $180++ (i’ve opt out the optional items). Is this norm? I tink last year also i spent almost the same amt. Hows bout the rest of you?
