      Model answer: 784 (or error?)
      TIA!
      My answer is 56.

Daniel and his friends wanted to paint the rooms of a new house. If they paint 6 rooms per day, they will be able to complete painting all of the rooms ahead of time by 1 day. If they paint 4 rooms per day, they will be behind schedule by 2 days. How many rooms are there?

      6 x (T - 1) = 4 x (T + 2)

      6 T - 4 T = 8 + 6

      2 T = 14

      T = 14/2
      = 7 days

      6 x 6 = 36 rooms (or 4 x 9 = 36)

      There are 36 rooms.

Mrs Goh had some $2 notes and some $10 notes. She had 95 notes altogether。 when she exchanged all the $10 notes for $2 notes she found that she had 175 notes . How many $2 notes did she have at first..

      175 – 95 = 80
      80/(5 – 1) = 20
      95 – 20 = 75

      Alternatively,
Let x and y be the number of $2- and $10- notes respectively.
      x + y β€”β€”- 95
      x + 5y β€”β€”- 175
      4y β€”β€”- 175 – 95 = 80
      1y β€”β€”- 80/4 = 20
      95 – 20 = 75

      Ans : 75 $2-notes.

Mark and Jie Ming started walking from the same spot in the opposite directions along a straight path. They walked for 30 minutes. At the end of the walk, they were 5 km apart. Mark's average speed was 4 km/h. What was Jie Ming's average speed?

      In 30 minutes,
      Mark walked for 4x0.5 = 2 km.
Jie Ming walked for 5-2 = 3 km.

      Hence, Jie Ming's speed was 3/0.5 = 6 km/h.

Ivan cycled from the school to the library at 80m/min. His sister cycled from the library to the school at 65m/min. Both of them started cycling towards each other at the same time and did not change their speeds throughout their journey. When Ivan reached the library, his sister was 480 m from the school. What was the distance between the school and the library?
