verykiasu2010:pirate:
Although I don't follow the case closely, it has been clear to me that the alleging bias mean favouritism of the rich and power. It has indeed crossed my mind that, perhaps, there is closer scrutiny because of widening wealth gap and maybe because of that it has become fertile ground for politicising.I was just waiting for the law minister to clarify. If it is a false allegation, it can surely be easily debunked. Now, i am waiting for the explanation for our sovereign fund accusation. The law minister had already debunked it. Sylvia Lim also said she is not alleging it. What more you need? And what about our sovereign fund? Personally, when it comes to things like our sovereign fund, I find the international financial markets a lot more reliable than some bloke.
What financial market are you trusting? is too vague a term you are using.Financial market is very corrupted in fact, nowaday. Haven't you all heard of LIBOR manipulation, Madoff etc...and more, our entire fiat currency system is a huge ponzi scheme created by the finance elites.

hi, my pc having some problem - can't hear properly from that video clip what the Asian Chinese mother said to the 2 angmo teenagers, trying to teach & knock some sense into them (Ausie boy whose hair is messy like never comb hair + girl who smokes a chain of cigarettes & run out of the RI school compound, went on shopping spree spend $ instead of studying) thus, would appreciate if someone can help summarize the main key points how that wise Chinese Asian mother managed to turn those 2 rebellous angmo kids around.Mdm Yeo well brought up kids happy family photo, volunteered to look after the 2 angmo teenagers:-http://grey-matterz.com/nusbsa/class%20note/Yeo%20Miu%20Ean%20-%20ClassNotes%2085.html Thank you v much!

So sad.. Regardless of how old the child is or where the incident took place, this is indeed a prove of a woman's strength to do the utmost for her child even to her very last breath. :gloomy:

I missed this touching documentary.I also heard of another case of a devoted spouse - his wife went into coma after a brain surgery. It’s been several years and she is still in coma, but he didn’t give up on her, still waiting for her to "wake up". Not easy for him to be both mother and father to his young kids.

      jtoh:verykiasu2010:
US domestic flights tend to have people who don't turn off their phones, laptops etc. Some are still merrily chatting as the flight's taking off.a number of them now have wifi service on board, so smartphone with wifi capabilities are allowed on flight modeI'm aware of that. But it's still not allowed during take off/ landing is it?
oh yes, take off and landing phase -- must turn off

I saw this once at a playgroup lesson of 3-4 year olds, who were accompanied by their mums/maids. It was tea break and the kids were told to line up for their drinks. Everyone formed a line, with the slower ones joining the back of the line. There was this mother, who took her son’s hand, giggled and ran all the way to the front of the line and sat down, all the while telling her son "Hurry hurry. We go in front." Everyone (including the maids) were shocked at her behavior and stared at her. She just stared back and went "hee! hee!" With mothers like that encouraging bad behavior, do you wonder what the son thinks is correct behavior?
