Thanks ! That clarifies my doubts šŸ™‚

This is the minimum subject requirements for admission to the various courses in NTU for NUSH diploma holders:

Hi, anyone knows if it's possible for a child who graduates from NUSH to do accountancy, business admin or economics in local University ?

This is a link to NUS website where it indicates the courses that NUSH diploma holders can apply and the necessary prerequisite:

      http://www.nus.edu.sg/oam/apply/local/prerequisites/BYA-prerequisites.html#top

Looks like they can apply to most courses. I think NUSH also offer economics as a subject from the 3rd or 4th year.

      Hi

NUSH is not particitating in S1 posting. From the website it stated 254 but MUST scored A* in Math & Science.
NUSH website indicates that COP for last year PSLE applicants was 256. It states that the PSLE applicant scores range from 256 to 274.
Sorri OT.

This morning I saw ST's headline about a 13 yo boy trying for Uni and I immediately thought of Ainan's case.
As I read further, the contrasts couldn't be more glaring and the unspoken thrust of the headlined article couldn't be more obvious.
How can anyone not be skeptical that ST is free press? šŸ˜‰

Hey, I didn't see it leh. Do you have a link to this? DD wants to go uni in June, she is also 13, but DH is against it. I am now in between the two. Would love to read about this case...

It doesn't mean that he would get into the local u for certain, esp since he's interested in applying for the medical school. He took A-levels tho' (thru British Council, not MOE).

      Here's part of the article:
      http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/Singapore/Story/STIStory_486723.html

Interestingly, I wonder why the article only mentions that he is a \"former\" student of Rosyth, but fails to mention that he is a CURRENT student of NUS High???
      http://sms.math.nus.edu.sg/Competitions/SMO2009.aspx
If I'm not mistaken, he's also a GEP student.
The full article in the straits times did say that he is currently a student in NUSH. He joined NUSH last year but was given leave to prepare for the O and A levels by the school.

While he was with Rosyth, he won platinum in the APMOPS and while with NUSH he was in the top 10 for SMO junior. He was top Malay student of his year. Unlike Ainan whose focus was in chemistry this guy did chemistry, biology, physis and maths.

Even if he does not get into NUS this time, NUSH with its accelerated program and links with NUS can always arrange for him to attend classes at NUS.

    • RE: River Valley High School [*IP]

Perhaps it is best for students who have difficulty coping in an IP school to transfer to a mainstream school as early as possible. By year 2 or end of year 2, parents should be able to gauge if their kids are coping or not.

A IP school will have most of their best resources dedicated to the IP program. It is demoralising to be one of the 15 kids in a cohort of a few hundred. Unlike a mainstream school where the O level fever and motivation and push is felt by entire cohort, it would seem like you are on your own when most of your friends are skipping the exams.

No need A* in both Maths and Science, you can still fill and submit the form.

      Hi harini,

So, the selection is purely based on PSLE score ? Fro 2009, as long as you scored 256 & above, you get in ?

      Thanks

Tested the system previously - it did not accept if scores less than 250 or maths and science not A*. Maybe there was a change when harini did it.

      In Item 12:

      12. Is NUSHS participating in S1-posting exercise?

No. NUSHS does not participate in the S1-posting. We have our own PSLE online registration system. You can opt to participate in the S1-posting AND our own PSLE online registration at the same time.

NUSH own's PSLE selection must have A* in both Maths & Science ? Or 256 can already ?
Must have A* in both both maths and science - there is a check in their application system which will not allow you to complete the application if you do not have A* for both.

Ref item 15. Hope it helps. Cannot find the part about the highest being 274 though. :?
The range of score (256 - 274) for PSLE posting for NUSH is shown on this page:

      http://www.highsch.nus.edu.sg/content.php?id=1f0e3dad99908345f7439f8ffabdffc4

See it under Year 1 (Phase 2) Selection Criteria.
Like most other schools the COP has gone down. Last year was 260.

For those keen on DSA this year, this page also indicates the 2010 dates for application, selection test and camp.

My DS also got an offer from NUSH, but he wanted to stay at ACS(I). I was reallyyyy surprised when we got the call too. Looks like this year the COP is low across all schools. :celebrate:

NUSH website has updated info on the PSLE score for last year PSLE applicants:

\"the aggregate range of 2009’s PSLE pupils posted to 2010 secondary 1 is 256-274.\"

Do you know if the 256-274 range is for all students posted to NUSH, ie inclusive of those admitted during the DSA phase? Or only for those admitted during the post-PSLE phase?

      Thanks.
Only for those admitted thru post PSLE phase.
