[quote=\"janet_lee88\"]if i am a mil, i will treat my son-in-law like another son just like my mum with hubby.
How about daughter-in-law? I am dreaded thinking about it :nailbite: -
remind ourselves as MILs in future…to put ourselves in their shoes and how we want to be treated.

I tink when we turn MIL, our DILs or grandchildren will be more fortunate.
we r more independent coz most of us know how to drive, educated. If we lonely,we can logon to internet to chat.
but i oso see the downside of it…what happen when our children see us as very independent?Probably they pay less attn on u or they become more reliance on u… -

I want to enjoy couple time with hubby...so please move out when they get married. -
I will embrace my DIL as my own daughters …(I only have sons)
Yet, I will try my very best not to be intrusive and be helpful when needed.
I’m happy to cook dinner for them if they wish and help to care for grandchildren occassionally.
However I don’t wish to be taken for granted. Also, have no wish to stay with them (whether it is our house or theirs). I think it is healthier (saner) for each of us to stay in our own unit. It’ll be good if we can stay near each other. -

This reminds me of a joke I shared some time back:hi5:

A couple had been married for 50 years.
They were sitting at the breakfast table one morning when the wife says, 'Just think, fifty years ago we were sitting here at this breakfast table together.'
'I know,' the old man said. 'We were probably sitting here naked as a jaybird fifty years ago..'
'Well,' Granny snickered. 'Let's relive some old times..'
Where upon, the two stripped to the buff and sat down at the table.
'You know, honey,' the little old lady breathlessly replied, 'My nipples are as hot for you today as they were fifty years ago.'
'I wouldn't be surprised,' replied Gramps. 'One's in your coffee and the other is in your oatmeal' -
