I tink when we turn MIL, our DILs or grandchildren will be more fortunate.


we r more independent coz most of us know how to drive,educated. If we lonely,we can logon to internet to chat.

but i oso see the downside of it…what happen when our children see us as very independent?Probably they pay less attn on u or they become more reliance on u…

there are so many gadgets...i don't want to think of our new role yet.

I will embrace my DIL as my own daughters …(I only have sons)

Yet, I will try my very best not to be intrusive and be helpful when needed.
I’m happy to cook dinner for them if they wish and help to care for grandchildren occassionally.

However I don’t wish to be taken for granted. Also, have no wish to stay with them (whether it is our house or theirs). I think it is healthier (saner) for each of us to stay in our own unit. It’ll be good if we can stay near each other.

No need to wait so long…when kids go to sec school, we should be able to enjoy couple time?


Definitely no to staying with son and his future wife…will be taken for granted. Maybe ok to staying near daughter and her family though.
