Blessedwife:
From the MOE release yesterday, it seems many schools will have balloting in 2B
Hopefully all our SG kids get in first rather than the PRs (I know I'm biased here but it's really from the bottom of my heart)
Getting more & more competitive each year!
It is getting tough every year as the number of Foreign Talent population is increasing.
I am quite surprised to find the children of our Foreign Talent staff have gotton into schools such as Catholic High, Nanyang, Henry Park and ACSP. -
EthanEthan:
Phase 1 - Phase 2Cs is only opened to SCs and PRs. They are PRs?Blessedwife:

Yes. They are PRs. SOme have applied for citizenship recently. PRs are eligible for all phases -
Since they are PRs, nothing unusual

bear07:
Henry park 9 places left. No balloting :imcool: :rahrah:
I think One of the main reasons for HPPS having so less seats left is the intake has been reduced from 360 to 300 ( over the last few years) -
patlsy79:
Hi patlsy79, I feel very stress too.. Im under P2B. Your distance? Do you know how many eligible PV this year?Cass Clare:
Looking at few places left in Fairfield Methodist Primary, high chance will have balloting in P2B. Anyone has idea when the balloting for P2B will be conducted if required?
are you eligible under 2B at Fairfield? me too...last yr still got 32vacancies for 2B. this yr...almost 40% dropped sigh.........so stressed. -
I said why dun MOE just change all primary school name to Ai Tong1, Ai Tong2, Ai Tong3 to… Ai Tong 300. And no teaching staff + primcipal are suppose to stay in the same school for more than 2-4 years.
All school will get equal funding/resources.
All school are good school or bad school.
No more argument over alumni vs distance VS PA.
We will be one step nearer to a utopian state like a communist country… It is a wonderful world. -
Why is Ai Tong so popular? Good in academic? Sorry, I didnt catch up on older posts about Ai Tong…

In that case, seems that there is no control in the number of methodist who try for phase 2B via church affliation?patlsy79:
stonston, what i know for most methodist, they dont require the kids to be baptised. either parent (baptised & be member) will do. But it has some min timeframe to be accepted as member after attending the church service says at least 1-2yrs prior membership ceremony etc. this is what i know

For my church the child but be baptised (infant/child baptism) and registered as member of the church.
Time frame I'm not too sure as my kids were baptised at 2yo.
Very hard to guess how many there will be each year and if there will be extra spaces flowing to phase 2C??
Seems that this primary one registration also depend alot on luck and if we are risk taker... Macham gambling.
Place bet wrongly. Lost a chance. Worse, end up in phase2C-Supp with leftovers after PRs/foreigners.

Ai Tong and Tao Nan is the top 2 of the Hokkien Huay Guan schools.
They are both SAP schools and have consistently produced good PSLE results. The rest of the Hokkien Huay Guan school are good too
AiTong emphasise a lot on moral and civil upbringing. The principle is a very dynamic person ( you will know when you talk to him:) ) and the teachers are approachable and competent.
