      Hi Mintleaf,

thanks thanks, you are so resourceful.

Parents here, do you coach your Sec one chinese or outsource?
I do not think he has the time to go for any chinese tuition, am planning to do the revision with him at home. Anyone doing home coaching, can share how do u do it? What are the assessment books that u will recommend?

Hi Daisyt, When did the school order for them last year? The books seem really interesting, I would like to quickly get them for my dd if school is not doing it this year.

[quote=\"MintLeaf\"]I went to Popular today and couldn't find 窗前的小豆豆。Where do you find such books?

Did you ask them? I remember seeing it before.

I believe this is an abridged version because it is quite short, you can get to read it here first if you still cannot get the book:

I think, somewhere in October, its was their end of year holidays' assessment. Actually my dd said quite boring, I guess because she has read the English version.

I just checked with Popular. They don’t have the Chinese version of Totto Chan. Any idea where I can get a copy?

You try Popular @ Bras Brasah ? They have wide collection of chinese books there. If not, those bookshops in Bras Brasah.

is it 窗前的小豆豆 or 窗边的小豆豆 ?

Coincidentally, I ordered 窗边的小豆豆 from dangdang. Order still on the way to Singapore, I hope it won't be out-of-stock. I was ordering other books for my primary school kid and I thought 窗边的小豆豆 looks interesting - so it is required text for our Secondary 1 ?

Anyway, I'll suggest call up Kinokuniya Chinese department or Popular customer service and give them the ISBN. If they don't stock, ask whether they can order for you :

KSP with Secondary school children taking Chinese
Were your kids taking Chinese enrichment/tution in primary school ?
How about now, still taking Chinese tution ? If so, which center or is it private tutor ?

Well done! You spotted the difference. 😄 I searched for 窗前的小豆豆 and hit a lot of China web sites, hence did not notice the difference even when I was reading from the URL ks2me provided.

How did you pay for your purchase at dangdang? Did you use a credit card issued in Singapore or ...?

I supposed KSP stands for KiaSu Parents? 😄 There is a forummer named KSP. To answer yours and SoWoW's questions, we teach our kids everything except English Language. But we did put them through one year of Chinese tuition at Jiang Education when they were in primary school. DS managed to move up to B3 last year but he is pretty inconsistent as can be seen from my earlier posts.

I am trying to follow some of Daisyt's recommendations. Her DD is really strong at Chinese and I think she does not go for tuition. Daisyt, am I right?
