Hi. I don't know the 2016 Y1 enrolment no but for 2014 it was around 400.Dear all,
May I know how many students will enroll at Rgs 2016 ? Although every school is the good school, I still prefer my girl to have a chance for studying at Rgs. -

From what I know, Y3's are by grouped by their subject combi's (including their subject RA's) only. My DD is in Y2 this year so maybe someone else can confirm this.Hi:
I understand that in Yr 1, girls who accepted the Sports domain DSA will usually be grouped in the same class for the same sports type. Eg: those who accepted Shooting DSA will usually be in the same class as other Shooting DSA applicants who were accepted as well.
May I know if this is the same case when the girls go into Yr 3? Or they will be streamed according to their subject combination?
Thank you! -
Thank you for your reply, kira!

Hi gardenia64: Usually the school would have allocated up to half of its possible enrollment to DSA applicants eg 200 (out of the 400 places), so the remaining places will be made available for S1 posting applicants. That said, I am not sure if this trend continues for the 2016 Yr1 enrollment.

Because RGS Secondary shifting to braddell site in a few more years soon, may cut down Sec 1 intake enrollment ? -
It was already cut down from 450 (2004 year 1) to 400 now. I hope Rgs does not cut down the enrollment. As Rgs always takes the students upto 3% of whole singapore. This means if u have the scholarship, then u are safe to enter the Rgs. Rgs can not drop their standard for enrollment year one.

Hi: No, I did not mean that. What I meant to say was that the number of DSA students who are offered and accepted (the offer) could vary from year to year. As a result, the number of places left for S1 posting is likely to vary too although it is safe to say that it will be around 200+/- for Yr 1 in 2016. That was what I heard during the Principal's talk this year. -

I believe RGS have the same syllabus as RI being in a Raffles family… I’m not the right person to answer this just yet though…lol…
Yes, as fr my DS, he is grouped according to their subjects combi in Y3. And the good thing is, in my opinion, they are not grouped based on their Y2 GPA result. Meaning u can hv students who got GPA >3.6 in the same class as the ones who achieved < 2.8. Except tat the better ones can do triple science…
Any RGS students/parents can cfm this…cos my DD is also embarking the Raffles family soon…
& is the new RGS campus opp RI…aft dat Braddell Hill turn? I believe theres an empty land space there…
Many thanks all… -

10 yrs ( 2004 vs 2014 ), the childbirth rate has fallen to new low record which may determine enrollment intake. For 2015 Yr 1 batch which my DD is in, there's a total of 13 classes - appx 400 students. -

Hi, GiftedGem,
Thanks for the reply. May be birth rate is one of the factor which rgs dropped the enrollment Y1. Hopefully 2016 intake for Year 1 still remain as 400. Also RGS can not dropped their standard to the lower cut off point as RGS need maintain their high standard. This is what my girl told me.
