Call MOE and check with them if primary school closed, is there any other option. If it’s merger, they should allow you to register under that merged school for priority.

        Blum:
        HI,

I am new to this site and I'm really stressed out with P1 registration for my first girl (born 2012).
Within my place, there's only 1 school (Ai Tong) that falls < 1 Km. There's nothing for 1-2km. To make things worst, both my husband and my primary schools are no longer around.

So I am basically stuck with Ai Tong, which is a very popular school. I understand even with P2C < 1km, balloting is needed. *STRESSED*

Should I just go for a school which is > 2km instead of wasting my chance on Ai Tong? If so, is there anything I look out for e.g. trend of school with no balloting in the past? TIA!
For dragon baby, the competition might be fierce, but as Lexy had pointed out, Townsville is still around, so you can easily register there under 2A2. Even for 2C, there might still be seats left.

Otherwise, you could do PV for Kuo Chuan. It should also be quite near to you as you're only <1km from Ai Tong.

Hi parents, in case you are not aware, this year's registration had many frustrated parents not receiving data on distance breakdown.

          See the discussion here: https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=83199&p=1789721#p1789721

If you wish to see some change happen before your turn for registration happens next year, please do make some noise. All the best!

What will u do if u r in my shoes?

In dragon yr, to register my child in a SAP school in phase 1, need to travel 45mins by school bus. Elder child will be AM session, dragon child PM session (silbings lesser time to bond).

            OR…

to register in a neighbourhood school in phase 2C (cannot predict the statistics for next yr, comparing the statistics in kiasuparent site 6 out of 12 yrs need to ballot), but the traveling time is only 15mins. Both elder and dragon child AM session, logistics more convenient.

Dragon child does not dislike Chinese, the Mandarin standard is average.

45 minutes of travelling is no joke, but if you can manage the logistics, why not? Having both children in the same school has many advantages as you are already familiar with the school and you know what to expect.

Different schools means you can't hand down the uniform and other accessories. And the curriculum will differ no matter what and it will be hard to gauge. And the second child will question why he/she is not going to the same school as the elder sibling. This will also affect the bonding between them as they will have less common topics.

Just my 2 cents. Decision is still for you to make. 😄

Hi, if I were in your shoes, will go for Phase 1 as well.

I’m staying within 1km of Rosyth & will most likely be in phase 2c. Anyone knows the breakdown & if anyone had to go ballot within 1km for 2c? Dragon baby next year registering, super nervous already xo

Rosyth has always had to ballot for SC <1km in the past 12 years in phase 2C.

Don't count on Phase 2C. Please try to do PV so you can secure your seat in Phase 2B. Your location is too good to waste in Phase 2C as the balloting for dragon babies will be worse than this year.
