the child is a boy. she is Buddhist. so very keen to go in MBS..
tell your friend that it is too late to do anything now, under 2C, as balloting very high chance to arise for SC < 1 km .

Just enrol her son into other school first, and later seek transfer into Maha Bodhi primary, or other schools that she also prefer (short-listed).

Tell her that not able to enrol her son into her dream school now, is not the end yet. She can always seek Transfer, at the end of (P2 / P3 / P4).

        someone:

As MBS is a Govt-aided school and they need funds. You can give a donation (at least 5 digit sum), that will make it higher chance for you to be selected from the waitlist. As putting the name on waitlist is a transfer process, so it is according to the discretion of the school and not MOE. This is a proven strategy by my relative (not for MBS but for another govt-aided school in need of funds for their upgrading).

If finances r not a problem, you can try this method and report back in KSP the results. Make them an offer they can't refuse. 😂 Our community will be most grateful. My sons will also be going to MBS, so I will thank you in advance too.
Will Principal of Maha Bodhi primary get into trouble, from this suggestion ?

Probably. Plus it's high risk, low return.
Why would he/ she do this - no real benefit to him/ her.

Someone said that it worked for his relative in a government aided school. It’s not corruption per se as there is no personal benefit and it is arguably just to help the school as a benefactor will help with funding… on a personal level, i think MBS is unlike most poorly funded govt aided schools and has many benefactors willing to step in, so should not apply to them, but rather they will give to fellow Buddhists that had contributed and volunteered in many ways whom the committee is already aware of. E.g. Kwan Inn thong hod cho temple donated so much funds that a whole building is named after them. We are talking about the temple with arguably the highest average daily donation takings in Singapore. Due to some work experience previously, I know the rough range myself but I will.not comment on it. Thanks.

As we had discussed previously, the selection of students in the transfer process is very subjective. Different schools using different methods and preference of selecting. Govt-aided schs are not 100% funded by the Govt, so they really need the fundings, more so if they are planning for upgrading. Hence the donation route is not illegal, as it is fundings donated by the public willingly, not the P/Sch hinting/requesting from the parent. The school can say is it a "coincidence" just nice now that our school has a vacancy for you. Personally I was totally pissed and felt unfair when my relative gotten a place after offering the cheque. Because before that the Sch had said no vacancy at that moment. Well, life is not fair. Not everyone has rich parents to help them get an advantage in life.

I think parents going through phase 2B are facing an agonising wait for the balloting results.

I’m wondering now that the balloting process if fully computerised and done at back end, why is there a need to wait almost a week for the results.

I can understand previously when it was conducted manually at the school as the staff has multiple logistics to prepare for the ballo like ball number assigned to atudent name/number etc etc
Maybe someone can feedback to MOE on this.

Are you referring to Phase 2B or Phase 3?

Maybe backend they are "doing" something. I hope the computer does not select the "type of" profile of students (certain income gp/educational level of parrnts) that the school wants for it’s bebefit. Anyway the balloting is not transparent, so we just have to have faith in the system.

                        Agree...
In fact i feel that for schools that don't need to ballot, why don't they start sending out the SMS already?
