Anyway, even if submit by 3 pm tomorrow Wed, they won’t process immediately, because must wait for those students who have appealed for psle results to re check, clear all these appeal cases, before computer can process S1 posting

261 is derived based on the whole cohort eligible for IS based on earlier response.

Only Singaporean students in this band are eligible for ESIS scholarship if they enter IS.

Your Q earlier was on cutoff. And yes, student admitted to OP track are eligible as well as long as they fit the criteria and enter IS.

        Singaporeans only.

Thanks... I just wonder how 261 is derived. Is my understanding correct? If there are X number of places in the independent IP schools, the top X number of Singaporean students with the highest T-scores will be eligible for ESIS. Correct?

[/quote]so can I say 261 is just a reference, the actual cut off could be lower(excluding those non-Singaporean, those who entering non-IP school)?

Hi, we r thinking whether to put either HCI as our 1st option and trying to find out more about HCI. Can anyone advise on the
            1) school hours ( i.e. what time need to report to school?) The travelling time is approx 1 hour from my place so need to estimate the timing to prepare for school.
            2) number of CCA required to take up for their students
            3) approx. number of days in a week to stay back for CCA

If a child joins a SAP school, will taking a third language benefit or add an disadvantage (i.e. need more time on travelling to language centre and learning the language)

If my ds choose Spanish, which centre does he go to? How often and how long per week? Are the lesson conducted on weekdays or weekends?

            TIA for the advice.

            1) starts at 7.30 except Friday 10am
            2) 1 cca
            2) minimum 2 days. For sports, usually 3 or more.
            4) Spanish is at Newton only. Once a week, Shd be 3.30-6.45 or 3.15-6.30. HCI designated 3rd Lang day is Thursday

            Checkout the third Lang thread:
            https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=7055&start=490

            or the HCI thread

            :thankyou:

my friend's daughter in IP3 @Dunman High, said got so many projects to do, said past mid-night then sleep

Every IP school IP curriculum is different, cannot compare
That is not the case for my friend’s daughter. She is enjoying the school life there with great teachers, score well consistently and usually sleep before 10.30pm. Think different kids have varying coping abilities.

Actual cut-off for ESIS scholarship is 261. No ifs and buts. Based on both Singaporean and non-Singaporean students. Works out to top ~2-2.5% of cohort (+/-).

You get scholarship if you are Singaporean, get >=261 and get into an IS school (IP or OP).
As for derivation, it's based on top 1/3 of eligible students to all IS schools (8 IS + NUSH, SST, SOTA, SSS).

I don't know the total number of available IS places (anyone?). Else can find total number of students eligible for IS. Also, we wouldn't know how many Singaporean students got it.

Idea is if we know the cut offs for the top 2% and 10% of cohort, we generally know how the cohort did and how to base our top 3 choices on.

MOE doesn't reveal these numbers. But, we can work backwards based on some assumptions.
