.... Anything extraordinary here? Wonder why women live longer...?
'CAUSE THEY ARE MADE FOR THE LONG HAUL.........
(and they can't die sooner, they still have things to
do!!!!) [/b]...
Can't die sooner, as still have many things to do... !!!! :stupid:

If it is with in our ability, we would plan what to do for the condolence visits, who should wear what, is that cleaned and ironed, etc etc...

Am surprised to find this thread...thought i'm the only suay one. Before and when i was pregnant, my DH promised the sky and the moon. When my son was borned, nothing was done. My DS is now 4 months plus and till date, he has only changed his diapers once (and that's because i was stuck doing my post-natal massage) and 'bathed' him once (not really bathed cos he gave up halfway and passed DS back to me). I know he is tired from work but i'm a FTWM as well. He doesn't want to change his son's diapers because he finds it disgusting. He doesn't want to bathe his son because it'll 'always get my clothes wet leh'. And many other things which i'm too tired to spell out here. I've spoken to him about it and he promised he will put in more effort from now on. Me too, hope that things will improve....Else i'm just a single mother with financial assistance.
Yr ds is only 4 mths, you've a long, long journey ahead of you, butterw. Consider getting a helper and if your dh dislike baby chores, get him to do housework instead. He has to do his fair share, right?
Though I was also a ftwm when dd was born, I gladly bathed, changed and enjoyed all the baby chores when I got back from work, to the extent of not allowing dh or the helper to do. I saw that as a way of bonding. The only chore I hated was mealtimes when she was a toddler, and that quickly became the helper's chore. -
For me, as a single parent, many times the anger comes to a head when there's a cockroach in the home (thank God it's rare!). I can handle most problems in the home but I cannot handle a cockroach. It's really, really tough when your child is screaming her head off, freaking out and you are just as hysterical and there's no man around to kill that monster lurking in the dark at home. That's when I never fail to curse at the absent husband. Where is the man when you need him? :x
-
not just cockroaches, but occasional bats too. Kids and I would scream like we’re possessed when we see one flying in…think vampires! :!:
And I also need the man around for changing lightbulbs (my legs wobble when I climb ladders), fixing a leaking tap and choked basins. -

I can do all that myself - don't need no man for that. :celebrate:

BUT man and cockroach (bats too I guess) must come together. -
I’m quite good at catching roaches and killing them… not really afraid of them though…
I’m changing the light bulbs in the house too.
But I’m really bad with Iphone games - a gadget my hb spends a lot of his time on and I told him just yesterday that I am going to confisicate his Iphone soon if I think his usage is excessive. -

Kudos for a wonderufl post, westmom!About that time, Dad turned off the TV and announced to no one in particular. \"I'm going to bed.\" And he did...without another thought.
